Sapphira is 8 weeks, she was 6lbs when born & was 10lbs at her 6week check so is growing well but is not a massive baby! She drinks sooo much though, she has on average 44ozs per day which is loads! Should I start to give her hungry baby or just let her feed this much? I was thinking of trying hungry baby at night. Im worried though she is too small for hungry baby, i know it says from birth but she is still so little...any thoughts?

honestly, if your hv has no issues with the amount she is having, which is just your normal 6 bottles a day then i would not worry about how much she is having
not sure why you would want to move to hungry baby, this is only needed if your baby is not getting satisfied with the normal first stage, which i guess your baby is - as for using it at night, again unless she needs it, in which case she would need it all of the time not just once a day, then i wouldnt switch -

sorry ment to add hungry baby milk will not make her drink less, it is nutritionally the same so if she was filling up on less of hungry baby she would be missing out on valuable nutrition

thats what im worried about, she is having much more than 6 bottles a day, minimum 8 per day, she never seems full & if i increase the ozs she just sicks it up which is why im thinking of changing

& we dont have hv's here which is why im asking here, i cant ask them!

Earl was drinking similar amounts from about that age. We tried him on HB milk and it made him quite poorly (started him on 1 bottle at bedtime which was fine to begin with) and didn't make him go longer or take less....in fact he ate more.

In the end I put him back on first stage and tried to get him into a routine. He settled down in the end to 7x6oz feeds with the occasional extra feed at night at 2.5hour intervals. At about 3 months he settled and after upping him to 7oz bottles he now goes about 3 hours per feed, 6 bottles per day on average.

What are her feeding intervals? Is she still hungry after a large feed? How much per feed on average?

I would just follow her lead and she will find her groove. Try to see if she has a pattern. Main thing is, if it's every day, not a growth spurt, then just go with her flow as she's obviously just a hungry little girl.
