We'll be months before we get to see the urologist. If your husband/partner has had this, how did they treat it?

Mine doesn't have any sperm and I think his testicles are smaller than average, especially on his right side. Since he's 43, I'm scared we won't have time on our side, he doesn't want to be TTC beyond 45.

Hi CanadianMaple,

in the same boat: dh had low testosterone, low libido. The urologist sent him to an endocrinologist. Blood tests and IRM to find out that he has a pituitary adenoma which makes his prolactin very high (twice the maximal value).
He is taking Dostinex (Cabergoline) to shrink the adenoma.
Now he has a normal prolactin and the testosterone is going also normal.
His libido is also better.
I am giving him some maca, multivitamin, carnitines, etc since his last SA was bad.
In 2007 we had 2 ICSIs without success and after supplementation his SA became normal. 8 months later, a bfp for a healthy boy!

I hope you will get a solution very soon!

Thank you for replying. I think they checked DH's prolactin, so I think I can rule that out. I'm glad they could treat your DH's with meds.

I've read somewhere about clomid helping men like my DH. I'm hoping there is something they can do.

Hi CanadianMaple,

yes I have read many positive posts about clomid and MFI.
But here in Germany it is not common to find an urologist who would prescribe it...
Dh is always reluctant for visiting doctors. I have to convince or sometimes "threat" him with an argument that one ICSI is very expensive... He does not like spend money!

But he is taking his supplements. I added now maca. Let see whether that works...

I'd like to add that if they give him testosterone creams or shots to counter act the low test. that it will effect any sperm... so mention TTc to the Dr.s that are treating your OH!!!
Good luck...and hopefully some of the above mentioned suppliments will help!
