So my son who is being evaluated for an ASD is super hyperactive. He runs around the house and is GO GO GO all the time, never stops. He walks and runs on his tip toes. He bites for no reason at all, even when he is not frustrated, he has to have oral stimulation, he also shakes his head back in forth thru out the day. (no he isnt just saying NO. he does this repeatedly)

Any idea on how to stop his excessive biting? He needs the oral stimulation because it isnt just biting, he also spits, blows random raspberries, bites/licks/kisses inatimate (sp:??) objects.

If it's oral stimulation your son is looking for, there are tubes that you can buy that are specifically designed for chewing... this is an example, I found when I googled "chew tube" https://www.mayer-johnson.com/chewy-tubes-blue-smooth-large-1835

When I worked in a school, we would also buy plastic refrigerator tubing from home improvement stores... you can cut a section off in whatever size you need it, and even string it on a necklace if you want to. It looks like this

How old is your son?

My son turned 2 in June. and thank you!

My niece got bitten really badly by another special needs child, broken skin, bruises and bleeding and now she's acting out with aggression too. Don't know what to do :-(

I would have a word with the school. I would not blame the child but the adults who are meant to be supervising.

Very well said. Those teachers/staff members should not have allowed it to happen.

And those are SO CUTE! Thanks for the link, I'd like to pass it on to some teacher friends.

That was already done. In fact, took it up with the dumb principle. He said that she bit herself. WTF? How can she bite her own back at her spine area? Her parents have since removed her from the school. Sent her for checks with the ObGyn just in case.

Now, she is very aggressive. Throws things everywhere. Rooms look like a tornado went through. Hits, kicks and punches especially her mother.
