I really dont even know if I should be posting this here or in the first tri, but I think I am having hyperemesis yet again. With my DS i had hyperemesis badly, was in and out of the hospital, had to have a PICC line placed so I could get fluids, nutrients, at home, overall just very sick through the pregnancy. Now with this one, I have had at first slight morning sickness that mainly came at night, with a small headache. Now, the past two days, severe nausea as soon as I wake up, no energy, entering the kitchen causes automatic nausea, as well as going from a lying position to a standing or walking position. I have two kids at home, I have my DS who is 6 and my DD who is three, and my OH and I are on what we can call a break, due to some feuding that was going on in the home. I really need to know, if this is me getting to worried, or is the hyperemesis rearing its ugly head once more. I dont know how I am going to do it. My house is the messiest it has ever been, wasnt supposed to take out the garbage or anything like that due to a Subchoironic hemorrage, (luckily it looks like it has absorbed), but still very anxious to take the garbage down the stairs...... Any suggestions? I am going to call my Doctor on monday if I am still feeling this way, But I am also afraid of what she might tell me, since she wasnt my OB with my other two, all I can tell her is my history, she didnt see it firsthand, Im afraid she will think I am just overexagerating everything
Does anyone have any advice?

Sounds like a possibility, i'd get checked out by your GP so they can act early, did you get any tablets for it last time, which ones if so and did they work? Another thing i'd say as silly as this is, is try your best not to worry. I found my HG was really at its worse when i was stressed. Where i worked was terrible about my sickness and kept pulling me in for "chats" about it so every time i went to go to work i would start violently throwing up and it would soon calm down after i rang in sick or if i didn't bother trying to go in it would almost be bareable for the day. (still bad but much better when not stressed). Big hugs, the thought of going through it again petrifies me so god knows how you must feel right now, just make sure you get the help you need for it as early as you can get it before you become really ill xx

hey hunny i can sympathise with you on this one, it does sound like its on its way but pls dont leave it too late b4 seeking help with it, like urself i suffer with this condition (im 19 weeks now so it has gone) but with both my 2 kids i was hospitalised by 6 weeks it was horrific they tried giving me pills at first to use at home but nothing worked both times i had to be taken into hosp (second time i admitted myself coz i knew what was coming) and the only thing that took the edge off it was strong anti emetic injections :( i found it hard the second time as i have 2 other kids but luckily OH and his parents were on hand to take the kids whilst i was in there, all i can advise is do ur best to drink fluids if nothing else and if that wont stay down pls do see ur GP for admittance to hosp or pills (if they work for you) do u have any family that can help u in the house and with the kids as i found just resting and sleeping helped so much.
your more than welcome to PM me at anytime for a chat hun i honestly know the feeling u have right now and its way past morning sickness :( for me it subsided by 9-10 weeks but with my daughter it was 14 weeks b4 it left so i cannot give u a defo time that u will feel better but i promise u that you will feel better very soon, hope your ok hunny like i said im here if u need me :) xxxx

You poor thing I suffered from hypermesis for the whole of my pregnany and was hospitalised several times. There was a HG thread on this section somewhere. I would call your OB asap and get treatment as soon as you can. The only tablet that helped me was Zofran it is rarely prescribed in the UK but I hear its quite common in the US :) xxx

Hi there, i really feel for you and I am in the same boat right now. This is my 3rd pg and i suffered HG with both of my kids. I am currently nauseas 24/7 all day and night. All food makes me feel really sick and sends me into cold sweats/panic. I have not started being sick yet but I have not eaten for over a week (apart from little snacks and crisps). I went to the doc on Tuesday and they have prescribed metochlopromide tablets. They never helped last time (nothing did) but I am giving them a go now. I am getting so tired and weak. I know exactly how you feel. My GP knows about my HG so he is looking after me early in the hope we can limit some of the damage but yesterday I had lots of ketones in my urine as i can't eat. At the moment I am still able to drink so I am coping but feel so ill and tired......

Please see your doc. HG is not recognised enough but it is an awful condition.

I am here for a chat so we can get through this. Mine lasted botht imes until 20 weeks ....:-(

Just a question did you get the same symptoms of HG at the same time in each pregnancy? I mean did you know instantly it was HG again? I am considering another baby and I keep trying to make myself think HG was a one off for me as I was carrying twins xxx

Yes, It all started the same time (6 weeks). I ended up in hospital the same time for both (9 and 10 weeks) and it ended around the same time (20 weeks). Identical the 2 times although with my first i vomitted a lot more.

I have to say, so far, it is not as bad as my last one. This pg was an accident as I said I could never go through that again but for now, whilst I think things are brewing it is not quite as bad as it was at the same points in both my other kids.

I would like to think that as you had twins last time if you had a singleton pregnancy then maybe it would not be so bad or maybe you would not suffer at all? I know eveyone told me not to let HG put me off and I did but having had this little accident I am actually glad it happened. It would have been sad to have deprived my kids of a sibling due to 5 months of suffering.....I have little choice now lol.

Join me in my madness :D

Lol you are tempting me to join you! First I need to convince dh. I hope it was just with twins :( the vomiting was horrendous and lasted the whole pregnancy until 30 mins before I had the c section lol. You end up being so sick its almost funny lol xxx

I am sorry I havent seen this post to be able to reply  but thank you so much ladies! I am doing much better now, holding things down, really has seemed to subsided, so fingers are crossed soooo tightly it stays that way! Reglan has been helping me so far, it has been great! With my DS I was in the hospital almost on a weekly basis, HG was so bad with him, I had gotten sent home with the lovely picc line and had to have nightly fluids and vitamins and all that fun stuff. At that time, no medicine really seemed to help, they had gave me phenergan, reglan, zofran, everything imaginable, it was pure hell to say the least, but of course, bubs was kicking away just fine :haha: I always joke he liked to cause trouble even when he was in the womb! With my DD, I had no HG, barely any morning sickness, only one time did the OB notice Ketones in my urine with her (with bubs I have ketones in my urine all the time, and always in large amounts), but I felt fine, so who knows what caused that, but I did start upping my fluids. With this pregnancy, it comes in waves, this wave being a good one so far, but I am going to have that talk with my OB on wed, since I am running out of reglan, and cannot really take care of my two kiddies while I am hoovering the toilet wishing someone would just bash me in the head and put me out of my misery :dohh:
Sorry its a long ranting post, but I do reaaally really hope you ladies begin to feel better with HG, and I agree, not many doctors do see it, or diagnose it! The first doc I had with my DS had the nerve to tell me it was just an ulcer and I will be fine, Luckily I switched docs after her, and two hospitalizations, and had gotten a doctor who truly understands HG.
Anyways, bean and I are doing fine, thank you again ladies!! :hugs::hugs::hugs:
Prayers to keep the dreaded picc line away and have a healthy pregnancy for all of us!
