Hi everyone! I was hoping someone could reassure me.
A little bit of back story: Before becoming pregnant with my first daughter I weighed 110 lbs. By the end of the pregnancy I weighed 135 lbs, but was back to my pre-pregnancy weight about a month later. From there I started gaining weight and within about a year hit the weight I'm at now (165 lbs). Diet and exercise never seemed to help, I would lose a couple of pounds here and there and then just gain it back. Thyroid disorders run in my family so I went to my GP and got checked and he told me that my levels were "borderline" and that I didn't need medication. I don't know what my levels actually were though because I was never told.
Flash forward 6 years...When my midwife did my 16 week blood tests my TSH level was at 11. She put me on synthroid right away and after a few adjusted dosages everything's finally leveled out. I'm 34 weeks now and I haven't gained a single pound. A few weeks I've lost a few pounds and then gained them back later but I've never gone above my pre-pregnancy weight of 165. My midwife seems concerned about my lack of weight gain and wants to send me for a growth scan in the next couple of weeks. I eat as much and as healthily as I possibly can and my fundal height is measuring a little bit ahead.
Has anyone else who was diagnosed with hypothyroidism during pregnancy had a hard time gaining weight? I'm so worried that baby's not getting enough but I don't know what else I could possibly do.
