:cry::cry:Hello everyone

I am new to these forums but have been reading them for ages so thought I would give it a go. I am feeling really down and feel I need to share with people who understand.

I am 35 and have been waiting for my boyfriend to come round to the idea of having babies for ages!!!! Dont mean to blame him but I now feel desperate! I have been ttc since Nov. I wouldn't really be worried yet but I have been using the clearblue fertility monitor and my luteal phase is only 5-6 days. Have had 2 day 21 progesterone tests The first was on day 23 (as the hospital was closed on day 21) and that was normal - but I got AF just a few days later. The second was day 21 and that showed no signs of ovulation. I had only had my LH surge that day so I wasn't surprised! Have now been referred for other fertility blood tests and an HSG but won't see doctor until June!!

Tried 50-100mg of vitamin b6 this month and also vitex until ovulation (this monthe only) but have got spotting today which means my luteal phase is the shortest it has ever been at 5 days!!!! Have ordered some progesterone cream for next month - does anyone know if I can take that with vitex? Also I have ordered some Maca - does anyone know if that can be taken with vitex? have also got some dong quai - is that ok with vitex?

I just wondered if anyone knows of anything that can help with this - feels pointless trying every month when I know there is no time for implantation!!!

Would love some advice as am feeling really low.

I can't help with your specific questions but wanted you to know you're not alone in feeling frustrated.

I hope you get some good news from your specialist when you finally get to see them. I've been ttc for 18 months since coming off the depo and I've got my first specialist appointment next month.

:hi: lovely, I dont no much about short LP, but 5-6 days is very short!!
Lets hope the specialist sorts it in june, shame you cant get to see them sooner???xx

Did you come off the pill in November? maybe your body is just adjusting right now. Good luck with the specialist- sorry you have to wait so long, ring up and ask to be put on cancellation list if that is possible.

If you are looking for advice from people who know more about short luteal phases maybe start a new thread with that in the title.

Keep trying though and all the best xxx

Thansk for all of your replies. I haven't been on the pill for years so it can't be anything to do with that. Good idea to start a thread though - thanks for your help:hug::hug:

Hi Silarose28, just wanted to say your not alone in feeling a bit down. I too am feeling extremely frustrated and anxious.

Me and my husband have been trying to conceive for about 2 years now. In June 2008 we began treatment at the hospital and I was put on Clomid 50mg days 2-6 of my cycle (my cycle was very regular every 28-30 days and I ovulate myself anyway). In October 2008 I had a laparascopy. I had a cycle the following month and took clomid. Both me and my husband have been told we are both healthy and the diagnosis is unexplained infertility.

In December 2008 I fell pregnant and was over the moon However this turned into a chemical pregnancy and i miscarried at 4.5 weeks. Ever since then my cycles have been all over the place. I was told to take a 2 month break from the clomid after the chemical pregnancy. However I had an almost constant period throughout January (alternating between red and brown) and then mid cycle bleeding in February. I consulted my GP a couple of time during this time and was told it was unlikely i'd even ovulated both months. I started my period this month on 2/3/09 and began taking the clomid. My period stopped after 6 days and although it was red blood it never really got heavy (normal for me is to start light then on 4th/5th day have a heavy bleed). Then today 11/3/09 I started bleeding red and it is quite heavy. I phoned the hospital and my consultant says he want's to start follicular tracking next month because he doesn't know what's going on.

Needless to say i am very confused with my body at the moment and feel a bit down today as this is probably another month wasted.

Hope you get your LP sorted out when you go the hospital.

J xxx

:hugs:So sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy. Sounds like you have been having a really rough time. It just seems so unfair that some women have such a tough time of it! Your consultant sounds as if he/she is being helpful though which is a good thing. Hopefully the follicular tracking will shed some light as to what is going on for you. I hope you have some good news soon xxx
