:happydance: I sat in the post office on a chair and fed him in front of everyone, was a bit paranoid at first incase someone said something, but no one did.

I didn't even put a blanket over us as Halen doesn't like it and won't feed with it over us.

Some man gave me a dirty look so I grinned at him lol

Well done :) You did brilliant. Braver than me, not gone blanketless yet

well done chick...i was always gettin my boob out wen i was breast feeding lol

Well done!! I am hoping that there are more and more people out there that do this so that it starts seeing more normal, so that it's accepted more by the time I have mine as I am adamant that I want to breastfeed. Glad you had no hassle other than the "look" - well done for smiling back xx

Ooooft well done you :happydance: I've still never been able to :(

congrats to jayleigh!

rest of this post removed to avoid stealing it any more than i already had.

:wohoo: Well done!!

And Red String - I'm confused by your comment as a bf mum... people don't feed in public to display it to others?! It's not as if mums intentionally go out to sit in a room full of people when their baby needs a feed. But if your baby needs fed and you're out it's nice not to feel you have to go and hide somewhere because of the way other people might treat you x

 Well done hun!! It's nerve racking when you first do it wondering if you will be made to feel crappy.

RS - BFing is more than just feeding yes but sometimes your baby is hungry and you just need to feed them. I'm not going to slink off if that happens. I dont 'display' anything when I feed in public. A bottle feeding mum would stop and feed where ever she needed to so why should a BF mum not do the same?? The reason she feels proud she managed to feel in public is because there are so many people out there who like you seem to think it's something to be hidden away like it's some secret act. :?

Well done, Jayleigh. I remember feeling all pumped up and proud as punch when we first did it!

Redstring - some people understandably feel slightly apprehensive about breastfeeding in public, especially when baby is very young and they are not 100% comfortable with their technique. I know I was. It is, therefore, very liberating for some of us to be able to overcome that initial trepidation and develop a knack for it.

Not all women are doing it as some sort of demonstration of their bravery but merely because they have a hungry, crying baby who needs to be fed and they don't want to sit in a toilet/smelly baby changing room to do so.

Not sure why that would be deemed to be "backwards"?

Thanks everyone :D I felt so glad that I wasn't too scared of doing it, as I had been before, there had been a few times I'd ran home with a screaming baby cause I was too scared to feed him outside.

Redstring - I honestly find your post a bit insulting on my thread of happiness. I don't want to "display" myself in public and have people gawking at me, I'd rather have no one look and be allowed to feed in peace.

I'm adamant at feeding in public because when my baby is hungry, he needs to be fed and I shouldn't feel like I can't feed my baby in public as if me doing so is wrong and dirty and people shouldn't see it.

I'm shocked at how your post comes across as if I'm doing something bad by being happy that I BF in public???

How can it be "backwards"? because it is the modern day I'm not allowed to?

You should be very proud of yourself hon, ignore the naysayers! :ignore:

Well done the fist time is always the worst! but you get the knack of it!

Well done Jayliegh!! You should be very proud!!!
