I decided to post this in case anyone else is in this situation. My first baby was breech at 35 weeks, and I used SpinningBabies to get him to move.. He became transverse at 36 weeks and turned head down one day during my exercises, from that point. He was born vaginally at 38+5. I found out on Friday that my current pregnancy is transverse! Oh, not this again! At least I caught her before she went breech on me, if she was going to. Again, I went to the SpinningBabies website to look up the same methods I used with my first baby!

Today, I dedicated lots of time today to getting this baby head-down, and we did it!!!!! It was confirmed that baby was transverse, laying right along my belly button line, when I started. I started out doing a side-lying release on both sides, just to get myself stretched out a bit. Then, did not have someone to help me do the breech tilt, so I did the forward leaning inversion from my pretty high couch, 5 times today. I laid on my RIGHT side (since baby's head was on my right side) a few times, with my hips propped up on a pillow, an ice pack just above where her head was, and my top leg propped up on pillows. This aligned my pelvis very nicely and allowed for lots of room there. This ice method was getting her wriggling, and every time she started going crazy, I'd do an inversion. The final time, I got up and my belly was suddenly NOT bulging out of the sides but had a big lump going along the right side and could feel her kicking in the middle and her hands on the left side of my pelvis. I got checked out again, and she is now head down in ROA position. This is fine with me!

I'm only 32 weeks along, so I'm glad I was able to figure out NOW (well, 5 days ago) that she was in this poor position. I had tried a little bit over those other 4 days to get her to move, but today I really put my all into it, and she seemed motivated to move as well (probably because of how much I was annoying her by trying!!!). Now, I've got to keep up with the Optimal Fetal Position exercises to help her stay head-down.

Some people cannot do the inversion methods because of blood pressure issues, but I can strongly recommend the ice pack method as this was getting her to move (just not quickly enough for me!). Placing an ice pack right above where baby's head is makes their heads cold, and they don't like that! Who would? So, they seek warmth by moving away from the cold. Also, use gravity to your advantage! If baby is transverse with her head on your left side, prop up your hips a bit, prop up your top leg and lay on your left side - the opposite side I had to lay on with my baby whose head was on the right side.

Hope I've helped somebody!

I'm trying that cold pack idea!! Thanks lovely and hope she stays that way or head down! Xx

I hope she stays head down, too... And I hope the cold pack works for you!!
