Here goes…I go into the BFP Announcements section all the time and just dream of what it would be like to post there. And then I just get jealous and upset. :dohh: The worst ones use the word “FINALLY” in the title, and then go on to say it took all of 3 long months.

I’m such a glutton for punishment! What is wrong with me? I can’t stop!

There is nothing wrong with you at all, I always look in there, 2 reasons, first of all, I like to read happy news, secondly, I like to punish myself!!!

Me too! And then I want to go mad :growlmad: Especially the one I read earlier about 'BFP first month of trying' AAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!! :hissy: I read it and thought I'm now gonna go soak in the bath with a pint of wine ;)

Well at least I'm not alone...we're all crazy!!! I guess infertility will do that to a girl.

I do the same thing! I read the BFP section for the exact same reason, i like the positivity and apparently i like to torture myself... I also spend alot of time sewing baby things for other people! Why do we torture ourselves!? I'm very glad there are more ladies out there like me! haha

last night I got a positive frer and got to post my happy news in the bfp announcements section. I was so overjoyed! And then I woke up and was so sad that it was just a dream...
We will get there girls after a real struggle not a 3month 'struggle'. Nothing against those girls but it is so difficult to see isn't it?!

I do exactly the same-we have been ttc around 22 months and unexplained. Sucks.

I crochet baby blankets for ladies I know who are pregnant. But I think I found the second reason for doing it...I get to steal some of the thunder from the mom-to-be at the baby shower. People just can't stop going on and on about how beautiful it is and they can't believe I did it all by hand myself. :haha: I know it's a little evil but if I can't get attention for being pg at least I can get some for my amazing craft skills. And hey, they can't complain, they get a family heirloom.

Ha! I never thought of it that way! Thats so sneaky, i love it!

I visit the BFP section quite a lot too but actually find it quite reassuring. I ignore all the 'pregnant 1st time' posts and only look at the ones that are LTTC or with issues to remind myself that it is possible.

@pheonix Rose... for some reason every time i try and reply and quote your message above it won't let me, so i just copied and pasted it into this message :-)

Anyway, I went to a baby shower today and as a gift i made a baby blanket, i spent a ridiculous amount of time on it.. i have to admit it was pretty darn cute! All the ladies gushed over it! They all couldn't believe i made it, and asked why i'm not selling them! They all want one now! Thanks for the sneaky idea, it definitely made the shower more bearable!

Lmao! Glad I could help. When people ask me why I don't sell them I tell them "because I'd have to charge you too much." for the amount of time it takes you'd have to charge around $200-$300 and I'm not even sure that adds up to $10 an hour. Although I have thought about just making them when I feel like it and selling it online at etsy.com or something, just to find out if people would pay that much. Stealing a small portion of the mommy-to-be's thunder does make the shower more bearable. Plus it gives you more to look forward to during the shower because the entire time you're sitting there your thinking "when is she going to open the gifts? I can't wait until she opens mine." the last one I went to, my DH's cousin's, she actually wasn't going to open them but I had to ask her to open mine. I really wanted to see her expression and get thank you's on the spot, not later through fb or anything (but I did get those too, hehe).

Glad to know i'm not the only one! Tonight I had a friend of mine come up sharing her great news of finally getting pregnant. She seems so stressed that they had been ttc since November! and then she raised her shirt to show off her bump. After ttc for almost 3 years it's a little frusterating! lol

Nik I also visit success stories and feel like that.... I also watch One Born Every Minute (do you - are you in the UK?) which is the ultimate in self punishment or as my friend said self harming!!! I cry for about an hour afterwards.

I'm starting to feel positive about success stories now, im trying to visualise myself posting in there and how it would feel. Try and imagine yourself posting in there, it might make you feel better - we will def be posting in there one day!!!

xx

I do the same . I also look at all the bump threads . And yes..I watch one born every minute every single week and cry. None of my friends and family have clicked that I am not crying coz I am a sop but because it makes me sad, but hey, LTTC does some crazy stuff to your head!!. Thankfully i haven't had any baby showers etc to deal with, but a LOT of my friends and family have had babies in the time I have been TTC.

Heehee Thats soooo true! The shower is waayyy more bearable when you know people will be gushing over your gift!

You should start selling your stuff on Etsy! I'm working on doing that now, its taking me a while to get everything organized though

As a hobby I do photography, and I end doing soooooo many maternity shoots. Kinda similar to the baby shower/blanket y'all were saying. I punish myself with endless hours photographing happy expecting couples, but i get all the credit and thanks when people see the pictures.

Mum to be is happy enough... I figure she won't mind if I steal a little light for myself... Teehee.

In addition to a "thanks" button, they really need a "like" button also!
