My mum has just been to the doctors to get a small spot about the size of a garden pea checked out ( on her face ) and the doctor has said that he is pretty sure its skin cancer. BUT also said that it cant spread and definitely isnt the type to kill you. Obviously im worried sick, do you know anyone thats had it and made a full recovery? My grandad had a tiny patch a few years ago and had it removed and that never came back... but this is my mum  Not that I love my grandad any less but i'm sure you know what I mean xxx

I don't have any advice but didn't want to r&r :hugs: Hope it's not skin cancer xx

My husband has something on his nose and the doctor said the same, two weeks later we went back as didnt hear anything. We were told again I looks like it.

We ended up paying privately as it was taking too long.

It was fine through, was just something else, which they sorted, so don't worry too much, a gp is a general practioner, so dont worry, until you see a specialist and get the facts.

he did say he was referring my mum to a skin specialist... i'm in bits worrying tho :( xx

The way you are describing what he said is a basal cell carcinoma

Hopefully this link works - honestly if it is this try not to worry too much.
:hugs:

netty, thankyou so so so much... that has really put my mind at ease because the way that they discribed it on there is EXACTLY what my mums is like.. and it confirms on there that 1 - it doesnt spread and 2 ) It can't kill you. Im guessing that its because my mum LOVES the sun and hardly ever wears suncream ( i always tell her off for it ) I just hope the doctor is right xx

Try not to worry yourself until you've got something to worry about <3 Keep your chin up.

Alot of people have basal cell carcinomas on their face, my mum had one and it's been chopped out (cos its ugly not cos it's dangerous). It's extremely unusual to have malignant melanoma on the face ad that's the dangerous kind- they also look very different to bcc so if your doctor has made the call he's probably right. Hope your mums ok maybe this will give her the push to wear sun cream?
