Omg I am totally freaking out this whole time I was certain formula was good for four hrs at room temperature. So I would feed my daughter old formula. Omg I am freaking out. Will she be ok, should I take her to see the dr???? I feel like a horrible mother. She seems to be fine. A little gassy but overall she seems fine. What should I do? Ive been doing this for the past couple of weeks. Help!

Don't worry about it. Just make sure you only leave it for 2 now (or 1 if they've had some). I'm sure your lo will be fine. When dd was newborn I didn't realise the boiled water was meant to be hot when you added the powder and was mixing her formula in room temperature water for a few weeks. She was fine. Don't panic.

Dont worry! As pp said from now on just stick to 2 hours untouched or 1 hour if drunk from.

There was a thread on here a while back about a lady who was worried about how her friend FF her baby. She would make up a whole days worth of bottles, fully with the powder and just leave them at room temp! I think she had been doing this for a while and the baby hadnt got sick so far. I dont know the outcome of the thread but what you have been doing is in no way like that so Im sure it hasnt hurt your lo. xxx

when my baby was in NICU they would leave the formula our for 3 hrs or so and it was fine!
the other day my stupid husband gave my baby formula that had been out for 10 hours!!! i went mad at him but my baby has been fine and hasnt had an upset stomach or anything!!

I wouldn't worry too much years ago my parents would make up a full days feeds and we turned out fine just stick to the 2 hour rule from now on x

I think it's the ready to feed that can be kept for 4 hours at room temp once opened, maybe that's where you heard 4 hours.

Nope its still 2 hours. Formula can be kept in a cool bag with a freezer block for 4 hours.
