Ok ladies, I need you to put your thinking caps on as I haven't got a 'crafty' bone in my body!! Lol
Basically, for various reasons, we are having my sons christening on his first birthday.
We've bought him this little suit to wear:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B002SFV446?in=1&is=300
Basically my dilemma is this: my mum died 9 years ago, and it breaks my heart every day that she never got to meet her grandson.
I have both her wedding dress and veil. I cannot bear to tamper with the dress but the veil has seen better days so I thought it would be a lovely idea to use it or part of it with my sons outfit so she can be a part of the day too?
It's from the 80's so like a white cap type thing with a comb fastening, normal veil netting material with cotton circle ribbon type thing at the bottom.
My mum was the most artistic person, and made stunning cross stitch pictures, knitted, sewed, baked, decorated cakes. I didn't inherit her artistic nature
All I can come up with is cutting a bit of the netting up or ribbon from the bottom and sewing it inside the waistcoat or something??
Has anyone got any better ideas please?
I would be very grateful as it means so much to somehow involve my mum and have a piece of her with us, iykwim??
