Well my husbands S.A. results came back and the news is horrible. :(
Count is 4.6(yes you read that correct)
Motility is 2%
I will post other numbers later but this is all I remember. We haven't seen the fertility specialist yet. He doesn't want to do IVF or IUI. He'll try anything. Needless to say we're devastated. We've tried for children for 2 yrs and this is heartbreaking news. Is there ANY success stories or words of encouragement or prayers y'all can give us? PLEASE ANYONE?

I'm so sorry Angel. I hope you can find a good treatment with a fertility doc. My DH first SA had slower motility and lower count that desired, but he also has low testosterone so my fertility doc put him on clomid which boosted his numbers greatly. I also have a coworker who's DH had low numbers all around and they had unexpected success after she had an HSG even though her tubes weren't blocked.
Do you mind me asking why he won't do an IUI?

He keeps reading the success rate is poor on iui and ivf. All of me is in good working condition. I'm a Christian so I'm gonna share my belief. My DH and I heart's desire is to have at least one child. God hears our cries and knows our desires. We're just praying for a miracle right now. I did the calculations and 2% of 4.6 is only 92000 :(

Any other words of encouragement or prayers or stories of hope? PLEASE do share.

At this point I feel hopeless, worthless, and life without a purpose. I feel defeated. Life here on Earth is no longer worth living. What's the point of living if you can't bear children?

I used to feel the same way (whats the point of it all if you can't have kids). But then I started thinking about all of the other ways that meaning can be added to one's life. If you think of Mother Theresa for example, she never had children and yet lived an immensely meaningful life.

I think having children is just one path of many that we can take in this life. Even though we all seem to be conditioned to think that having children is the "only" path.

I'm sorry you had such a disappointing SA. I am doubtful that IUI will be suggested with those numbers, but you may have good success with IVF and ICSI. You could try looking into supplements for male infertility and lifestyle changes, your husband should also be checked for varicocele.

I'm rooting for you!

Thank you for responding. I feel shattered like I've never been before. We haven't made an apt to see a specialist yet since we've been on vacation. We've been reading what can be done. From what I've read is that taking in zinc and vitamin C can help ad well as Clomid for males. He's willing to make lifestyle changes. He's also willing to see Urologist for a varicocele too. I'm praying he'll consider ivf but it's so expensive. I do tell him and myself that raising a child is more expensive than 1 ivf. Thanks again for your support. I hope others will chime in as well.

Has he had his testosterone checked? That was the cause of DH low count and motility and Clomid helped him greatly. Don't give up yet! I have felt the same many, many, times and keep pushing forward onto the next treatment option. Try not to let the stress completely take over your life until you can see a fertility specialist (I know, easier said than done). :hugs:
