implantation.

I've done some research after finding out mine and my husbands blood types were the opposite. He has positive RH, where as I have negative RH causing my bodies immune system to not recognize and reject my embryo's as foreign bodies because they are most likely carrying RH positive blood .

RH positive blood is recognized by an RH positive mother.
RH negative blood is regonized by an RH positive or negative mother.
RH positive blood is not recognized by an RH negative mother. :nope:

I have added two links.

I hope these may give someone the information they may be looking for. :hugs:

RH negativity only affects 15% of the worlds population. Most people are RH positive.
Also not producing the right hormones during implantation can not suppress your immune system and cause recurrent early miscarriages.

Just to give you some hope hun, I'm RH- and my hubby is RH+

I've only had one BFP ever, after 2 years of trying, and I'm currently over 13 weeks. I know this doesn't mean I'll end up with a baby at the end of it, but plenty of women do. From my understanding, the RH incompatability doesn't typically come into the picture unless you've had a miscarriage or gone through labor with a RH+ baby and their blood got mixed into your body. Then your body would make the antibodies for it, which could jeapordize future pregnancies. They do have a way to treat it, the Rhogam shot. I'll be getting that at 28 weeks and after the birth if baby is RH+, and if I have any bleeding during the pregnancy. This will make sure my body doesn't make the antibodies and will allow future pregnancies to not be affected.

I've had 2 miscarriages, but they were both in the early stages so I still don't know whether its caused any problems. Thanks for your support though :flower: I hope I don't have another MC. At this rate I think I will just be having the one child :dohh:
I really hope your pregnancy goes well, you can be a beacon of light [-o<

Can you ask your doctor if you can get tested to see if you have the antibodies for some reason?? They should be able to check your blood for them if previous MCs have caused it.

MCs happen for lots of reasons though. Both of my parents are RH- and my mom had 3 miscarriages out of 6 pregnancies. I hope yours have just been bad luck and the next one is sticky! :hugs:

I have O- blood and I don't know how I wound up with an O- partner but I'm very thankful sometimes because this would absolutely be a question in my mind about if it effected my chemical and miscarriage.
I'm going to chalk my mc up to old age and rotton eggs/sperm and try again. It's very wise of you to look at this though, as it's one of those things I'd be wondering if the doctors know all the details about (the causal effects of rh difference to mc)

Well as an update I got :bfn: today at 15 dpo  af due today.
I should put money down on it arriving every month.

But yes, the RH factor is something I am going to mention to my doctor, the two miscarriages I had happened at five weeks, the second M/C at 4 and a half weeks an have not been pregnant since then. Its been just over 18 months now since I even had a :bfp: .

I didn't even know about the RH factor until a family member told me

I'm due to pick up results anyway of an ultrasound scan of my womb :coffee: just now waiting for the :witch: today.
