implantation bleeding or early period?

My DH and I have been trying to conceive for 11 months, it turned out my DH was the cause of our infertility issues. He had surgery one month ago to correct this . I stopped charting for this time since physical activity was limited while he healed and I have not taken my BT or OPK this month at all. Honestly I have not been paying attention to any of my the normal signs since I didn't think anything could happen so soon after DH surgery and I have been distracted the last few days because I had to get a skin biopsy on my breast (it was benign).
We DTD 5 days ago and three days ago and planned on having a romantic evening tonight since we are getting close to my regularly scheduled O which is normally day 18. (today is day 16) I regularly get my period on day 31. But when I got home from work today I noticed staining in my underwear and then a bit of light bleeding on the tp on my next visit to the bathroom.
I have no idea if this is a very early period, implantation bleeding or spotting(which I have never had in 16 years of menstruation).

Hard to say if you ovulated early you still dont implant for 6-12 after the egg is fertilised.

May well be spotting.

HI ladies my husband and I have been married for almost 2 years, and we decided we are finally ready to try and conceive. I went off birth control pills in May on the 17th was the last inactive pill in my pack. I started AF on the 22nd. If i am not mistaking i believe i ovulated on June 3rd of course we starting trying right away as soon as AF went away. As i said earlier im pretty sure i ovulated on June 3rd. On June 9th i had some spotting which was 6 days past ovulation. I took a test last night and of course it was negative. I am hoping it was just to soon to test. I am suppose to have AF again on the 19th of this month so I'm hoping she doesn't show and i can test again. Wish me luck, and btw i am new to this site.

Hi Scottswife, I am wishing baby dust on you. Do you normally spot during your cycle?

My spotting picked up to a light flow and has lasted for over 5 days so I am thinking it was an early period possibly brought on by stress. I POAS yesterday and it was also a BFN.

Don't worry if you don't get a BFP this month it is still early. I am telling myself the same thing because although this will be my twelfth cycle since starting it is the second cycle since my DH fertility issues were corrected.

Hi I am new to the site too, What I have read implantation is meant to last only a few days and easy to get mixed up with period.

Having said that here's my situation Confused: My ovulation dates were between 7-11th June 2014. Around the 13th i started having some bleeding. first lot just a discharge with a little swirl of blood. Then nothing for a day, when I had the little light blood. Since that time I have had a small amount of dark colour. Since 15th I have wiped once and had a bright red smear and now just its just little bits when I go in the morning. Have experienced a heaviness in the bladder, tender breasts (on off). I am not sure if its implantation as it seems to have started quicker than what I have read about.

My period isn't due until the 26/27th of June. I guess I will know then if its implantation or not but I am 38 years old and I guess the not knowing is driving me insane. Has anyone experienced this?

Of course I don't have an exact answer for you since I started this thread with the same question. However, from what I have read it takes 6-12 days to implant so if you O'd on the 7th, the thirteenth would be 6 days later so it is possible. I am assuming you did the BD prior to or on that date as well. Are you charting you BT at all? Mine took a severe dive, after a few days of spotting which let me know that it was in fact an early period. Are you planning on taking a test or waiting till you actually miss your period first? Those will be the only sure ways to tell. some sites said the test could show a positive 5 days after implantation but you are also risking a false negative if you test before your missed period.

Hi everyone!
I went through this last month. at 11 dpo (3 days before af) i had spotting when i woke up in the morning. of course i was crushed, and then took my temp and it was still in the 98's. later, it just became heavier and heavier, but still lighter than normal af. it lasted 5 days and my temps didnt drop until about 4-5 days after. Of course, i was super confused so i researched and researched and pretty much became obsessed because i thought for sure that that was my cycle and i didnt know what was going on.
Anyways, while researching i saw alot of posts saying that implantation bleeding is nothing like af, that it is much lighter, dont last as long, blah blah blah. so then i was pretty much giving up on it. and then, i came across this one article that might give you guys some hope. It basically said that she was 3 days early and it lasted for 5 days. it was just like af and she just brushed it off and didnt think anything of it. the next month around the time when af was due, it didnt come. so she took a test and it came out positive. when she went to the dr, they told her that she was 1.5 months pregnant and that the bleeding from the month before was implantation bleeding. although it wasnt the case for me, keep this in mind! never count yourself out until you are absolutely positive because your body can surprise you

My mom had her "period" the first month with my older sister and since I have been becoming more and more like my mother everyday ,physically, I expect something similar to happen for me. Like I stated earlier I POAS after the end of this suspected period and it was a BFN so I started counting a new cycle. But, now I'm looking at other people's positive results from cheapy store tests, and the second line is super light. If there wasn't clearly two lines I didn't even consider a positive before, but I will be looking more closely next time I test. That being said I am now questioning the BFN since I threw the test away. I still haven't gotten up to the time I should have gotten my period on my original cycle and will have to wait until July 9th to see if I miss my next one. Of course to make it more confusing, I have been noticing how plump I have gotten over the winter months and trying to get into exercising, but there is a little voice in the back of my head saying, "maybe that is not winter fat." I did have a temp drop but it only lasted one day at the end of my "period" and then jumped back up a bit. Rationally, I don't think I am pregnant yet, but a part of me always wonders and worries about the wine tastings and end of the year parties I went to this last week.

Dont feel bad about having a little fun while youre trying! I do it, everyone does it doesnt make you a bad person for having fun while ttc. after all, you never truly know until bfp right? exercising is hard to get into, i must say haha i have asthma and its hard for me to do any physical activity without coughing up a lung lol. but stay motivated! also, ive read that some people (not many) may experience a temp drop while implanting occurs (implantation dip). do who knows, you could be one of the 'not many' lol
