implantation bleeding?

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone had an idea how long implantation bleeding should last for? I have been bleeding very lightly since 26th DEC, ranging from brown to slightly more red, sometimes only when I wipe. We have been trying since november and I havent had a 'proper' period. Aldo after bd this am, there was a small amount of red blood, but oinly when I wiped, is this normal? I'm due at the docs on wed for other things, but I could ask her about this also. She is retesting my thyroid at the mo, as I already take thyroxine. Any ideas? Candice XX

Implantation bleeding is usually just spotting, much lighter, doesn’t have that pattern and usually lasts for one day although some women reported cramping and spotting for a few days. Not all women would experience implantation bleeding.

Yes, be sure to ask the doc, they should be able to answer some questions, especially if you are on meds and such, and they know (or should know) your history. keep all of us posted.

i thought i had started my period on sunday(13/01/2008) but it was only a small amount and since then there had been nothing apart from a very very light brown tinge when i wiped, its now 15/01/08 and only signs im getting is more brown when i wipe and a slight bit on a pad.....apart form other symptoms which im not sure whether to relate to weird period or another reason do u think i have any reason to worry about pregnancy...??or cud it just be "one of those things"? HELP!!!

Hi i had a IB with both pregnancies. The first lasted a couple of days (enough that i presumed it was a period) but this time it was over a six hour period and was a very small amount of spotting. Hope it all works out for you.

I really dont know the answer to that SAM, my 'bleeding' if you could call it that has lasted from 26th december until today, but has not followed a logical pattern and is not really like a normal period. Its not healve and has not been bright red for many days now. Its more like a dicharge I would say. Today I have been feeling pretty rough, dizzy, nauseouos and dodgy tummy, but this may be a bug. There would be days where I would get nothing on a pad and I would think 'hooray' back to normal, only to find the next day that it had happened again. Are your periods regular normally? And are you actively TTC?

im not trying for a baby at all.....and im a bit unorganised in the fact i cant quite remember when i was last on....because ive never had a problem, this period has been really starnge,,,,is it possible that the fact ive only had tiny amounts twice in 3 days is just one of those things or shall it ake a test?

I have brown spotting for since yesterday. I never had this before. I thought it might be implatation bleeding. But when it continued today, I am not sure if it would be since I hear implatation bleeding only last a day.

SAM, everyone is different, but if you are worried then you should take a test. When was the last time you had unprotected sex? this could be a factor,cos if it was less than 14 days you may be pregnant but still get a neg.

hi i think it was jut one of those things as my period has arrived (finally) today.......well im having the cramsps and redder blood when i wipe..... so im guessing its gonna arrice shortly thanks for ur advice from a very relieved SAM xx

I am not sure, but I think implantation bleeding only lasts a day or so (and it is spotting). I am sure everything will be fine. Have you done any pregnancy tests? Some women report lightly bleeding on and off during the first trimester.
