Implantation bleeding?

I am on day 27 of a 36 day cycle. DH and I were very active during my fertile window . We've been TTC since August and this is my first child.

I woke up this morning and had some light pink spotting. I went to the restroom at lunch time today and there was more discharge and it was red as opposed to pink, almost period-like. My period isn't due until Valentine's Day and I've never been early, just late if anything.

Part of me wants to believe this is implantation bleeding while the other part is very pessimistic.

Has anyone had red IB before? Or should I just go ahead and expect a BFN?

I am facing the same problem as well. And expecting the same day... except I have a 27 day cycle and am currently on day 23.. me and hubby have been ttc since January of last year. We have suffered 4 miscarriages and this is my first time ever posting to this site, yet I've followed it for almost 2 years now
