In one feed, how often do you need to burp?

It almost seems like every ounce I need to burp Chase. You can absolutely hear it in his tummy, takes about 5-10 minutes to get it out, then the cycle continues.

Obviously, the Playtex drop in bottles even when the air is pressed out, is causing this.

Think it's time to switch bottles?

We only burp Hannah once now at the end of her bottle, been doing it that way a while as she does one of two things if we stop mid-feed--screams her head off or refuses to eat anymore after she burps  We use the playtex vent-air bottles but you do have to do a lot of work sterilizing and putting them together. I've heard the Dr. Brown bottles are good at helping with gas and you can find them here at Shoppers and Toys R Us I believe

When Amy was newborn and at the age yours is now I had to burp her every ounce or she would get her colic quite bad, and like you it would take about 5 mins to get up. I was using Mothercare's own bottles and changed to Tommee Tippee and her colic eased off then and she got her wind up better, or it may just have been her colic going . . .

At any rate I can relate to having to wind them every ounce . . .

I used the playtex bottles for a long time and burped him after 4 onz then went on ..now i burp him at the end of his feed

I do it once at the end...

I burp LO twice at halfway and at the end. I have had issues with gas with her forever and tried tons of different bottles and all were the same for gas. The only thing I've been having any luck with is putting a few drops of infacol (anti foaming agent) in every bottle. I have just started seeing the vent bottles around more and have been thinking about using them.

We use dr browns with tegan and they really make a difference, still burp her every ounce or she's sick all over the place (reflux) but she brings her wind up a lot better
