Sorry for spelling using phone

My midwife dropped all my appointments at 36 weeks I rang drs to get appointment was due September 17th and couldn't get an appointment for sweep 15th October any way midwife Rang said was nothing she could. Do to get me in

I went fully overdue no midwife ect luckily my mum has midwife friend who checked me over !!

I booked my self in for induction and demanded I got on for that day

3rd Oct my labour began at 3 pm waters broken on 4th and taken to labour at delivery at 8 pm
I had epidural and went to sleep baby was distressed and student midwife kept calling in head midwife who said turn drip down
And way with drip off her hb kept dipping, epidural wore off any way shift changed 8am on 5,th I'd been pushing since 5 am

Got to 9 am I kept crying as couldnt push or take pain any more head midwife told me to shut up and try harder and I didn't care

Any way another midwife came in and realised baby was back to back stressed and not engaged !!

I went for forceps vontouse then c section I felt butchered and like all my dignity was gone

Iv suffered with postnatal depression because of what the woman was saying and what I went through
Week later little one was having seizures when they questioned my birth they then lost all mine And avas birth notes AMD came till they stopped questioning weather was lack oxygen or being squashed ect

Any way I want another c section I feel neglected !! Iv been on anxiety medication anti depression tabs and counseling for post traumatic stress I CANT do that again ever !!

If you've had a previous section you can ask for another one. I had a section with my first child because she was beech, tried vbac with my youngest but he didn't want to come. I refused induction and told them I wanted to go straight for section and had one 6 hours after asking. Be clear and stick with what you want, they might try to talk you out of it like they did with me but it's your choice to make.

Thank you my hospital very pro vbac my aunt was refused and her womb split at scar and baby died as couldnt get section done fast enough I'm sure on what's best for me and baby and that's another c section xx

Just explain your previous birth traumatised you and the thought of going through it again really worries/panics you! They have to go with your choice, so as long as you stick to your guns you should get it!
It took me 3 appointments to persuade SIX consultants that I had thought every thing through and knew the risks ect before they agreed! :flower:

Yeah have looked at both not even entertaining that option of vbac not after my first labour , thank you x

I havent had a previous section but my previous labour and birth were very traumatic. I have asked since before I was pregnant for a section. I told MW at my first appointment and I'm booked in to see a consultant for a section date on Thursday.
I'm expecting a fight, but I'm going in prepared for said fight. I wont be leaving without a date. They are not going to put me or my baby at risk like we were last time.

Lots of luck and stick to your guns. xx

I requested elective after previous emergency section nd anxiety surrounding birth.

I declined a vbac from the start and have met with no resistance at any appointments ( was expecting a fight but pleasantly surprised).

My friend also requested an elective after emergency c section and her midwife advised her if she met any resistance to say 'Can you promise the same won't happen again? ' and they can't and therefore could find themselves liable if it did.

I worried until my 20 week app at the hospital and didn't trust them till I got my date last week at 34 weeks but as I said my views have been taken with no questions. I'm based in a North West hospital. The first rule of a vbac is the mother being onboard so they can't make you trial without your consent.

Hope things go better this time, really horrible when they don't listen to you or your fears in labour, had a similar experience xx

My MW tried to promise that it wouldnt happen again!! Silly woman!!

Hopefully I'll be able to relax after Thursday's appointment. The only resistance I've had is from my own MW, the hospital so far have been great and agreed easily, though that's whats worrying me?! xx

Fingers crossed for us all

Birth is traumatic especially if it goes wrong the first you dont touch the same hot kettle twice xx

poor love :hugs:
it must be a lot stricter in england as i had an emcs and can choose an elective as soon as i get pregnant and see a midwife. also given what you went through and what it led to in terms of depression and anxiety and needing medication, i would also suggest therapy too and please do push for a c section, my SIL in surrey is able to get a repeat section, lol she just told the midwive she is having one next time she gets pregnant and they midwife said "yes fine" because she had an emcs

If you meet resistance get in touch with PALS at your hospital - they will help you to fight and tbh, most medical staff seem to back down as soon as PALS are involved

Thank you have them involved with my daughter as to why was left to go that far over no questions asked and misdiagnosis thank you so much for reply x

Charliebear how did your appointment go ?? X

Its today at 1.30pm. I'm so nervous, but I'm prepared. I have bits and bobs written down and questions I want to ask about the c-section too.
I will also be taking the advice to get PAL's involved if I need to. xx

Yeah I wrote my list other week , good luck let us know how you got on pals are good and fast if not the NICE guide lines x

I didn't need any of my info.
Consultant asked how I'd like to give birth, I said I'd like a section and he said ok
He explained the risks, after we went through my previous birth as he needed to note down what had happened. I've signed the consent form and have my pre-op app and tablets to take before hand.

LauraAvasMum, I dont think you'll meet much resistance. After having a previous section you should be able to choose.
One of the points the consultant made to me was the chance of complications with future pregnancies and births if I went ahead with the section.
He said they wouldnt recommend a vbac (though people do it everyday) and any future births would be by c-section.
Lots of luck hun xx

I have an appt with the doctor to discuss this morning, I had a traumatic birth with DS and now have bad pgp - when doing a birth plan with the midwife I just said I want a csection, she agreed she the best idea and wrote it on my notes without going through anything else.
My appt today is about the results from the MRI scan I had on Wednesday, where all I was told was "there is a problem with your pelvis"

Hoping they agree as I really have no idea how I could have a normal delivery again :(

Xx
