Increase CM?

Hi,

I have made a discovery today, its not a natural way but concieve plus is meant to be really good.

How long have you been trying? I am on my first round of clomid 100mg and have fount having :sex: really difficult as the clomid has made me very dry downstairs, so i am hoping the concieve plus will work!
Praying for my :bfp: this month and :dust: to you all

Drink lots of water, avoid any antihistamines....including natural ones (Vitamin C is a very good natural antihistamine - and therefore dries up any mucus...nasal or cervical...not what you want in this case) and I also take 2000mg of Evening Primrose Oil each cycle up until ovulation, which works a treat. Do not take this after Ov as it can cause mild uterine contractions and therefore is a small miscarriage risk. I supplement with Vegetarian Omega 3,6 and 9's after ovulation.

I was worried my CM may be affected once I went on Clomid, but doing the above has me practically drowning in the stuff each cycle now!

You can also take Guafanesin - avaiable from most pharmacists as non-branded or branded is Robitussin Chesty Cough Syrup. This thins the bodies mucus secretions and helps them flow. Also try Pelvic floor exercises just before sex.....sometimes you have plenty of CM but it is hihg......Pelvic floors exercises will push it down and to where it should be, as will a bowel movement.

OMG: i didn't know that about antihistamines! I am allerrgic to my dogs and have to take one a day!

I am going to try using the concieve plus this month because i have noticed that i am very dry since i have been taking the CLOMID but the antihistamines must be helping aswell!

Do you think the concieve plus will help me? as i can't stop taking the antihistamines????

amy, I have to take antihistamine daily too due to an allergy to dustmites, have done so for over 7 years now and couldn't function withoutit, and yes, I don't get ewcm any longer. I have used preseed and did manage to get pg once (mc early), so it is possible. I heard conceive plus was better than preseed so might use this this cycle.

I think it really depends on your circumstances. We've used Preseed in the past.....a very similar thing, and have suffered two miscarriages. My husband has very low morphology and our Fertility Specialist explained that the miscarriages may have been due to the fact that the Preseed doesn't filter out bad sperm the way our bodies natural mucus does, and in our case that this may have been the reason behind our miscarriages.

He went on to explain that therefore in some cases that no mucus (albeit - it is actually rare to have none at all. It is more likely to be non visible or 'reachable') is preferable to the 'fake' ones, and that if needed should only be used in tiny amounts for lubrication for initial entry. He did say that in tests they have done in clinic, out of all of the marketed lubricants Preseed was the best, but whilst they have been designed to be as close as possible to the bodies own mucus, they are still in fact going to kill some sperm as they aren't identical.

Nowadays, I'm defintely a fan of trying the natural way first, so maybe see if any of the methods above can help you before turning to it, but its your choice, if you know you have no sperm problems and defintely have no mucus and no way of increasing otherwise then you could try it....but I guess the phrase "Preseed with caution" springs to mind!

It has really shocked me about the antihistamines, so i am defantly going to use the concieve plus this month. really sorry to hear about your M/C, when did it happen? I hope this hasn't made you loose faith. How long have you been trying?

you can try grapefuit juice, citrus fruits and EPO from AF to ov they are all natural ways

it worked for me last month..x

Hi Lyns, thank you for all your usefull info, i will defanatly keep this in mind. xxx

EPO has worked a treat for me. And I also stop taking it mid-cycle. Thank Lyns for such a detailed reply - it was all very interesting.
I know preeseed does still kill some :spermy: but I think if you have none at all (perhaps due to the antihistamines) then it's better to use a tiny bit to get things started iykwim.

I have just read about concieve plus, which seems a lot safer than pre seed so i am going to try that this month, fingers crossed i get my BFP xxxxx

I have read (not on here as much as google other sites) that real egg white is actually the best b/c of the protein level so similar to protein level of sperm it carries them best, however of course there is risk of salmonella. I'm desparate enough to try-but was wondering if anyone has heard either success or horror stories of this.

Thanks for the ladies that have responded. I'm glad of the input at CM is always a big issue for some ladies.

I read that having a small cup of hot water and lemon in the morning helps with CM.
Also keeps the vagina alkaline which is essential for sperm to survive.

I really want to try the EPO but i wouldn't know when to stop taking it as i don't know when i ovulate yet on the clomid.

How do you know you ovulated? OPK?
Anyone with PCOS?

xxx

I've been trying to conceive since march 08.
I'm on my first cycle of 100mg too.
I get cm (white, creamy) TMI, but not the EWCM.
Although it has been white, watery, slippery before, this that fertile cm?

Where did you get conceive plus to?

:dust:

Hi Pusskins. I chart BBT and find that is the only way that I can keep track of when I ovulate. The last 2 cycles I have not got a postive on OPK so I couldn't rely on them. Charting really is good. I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago but it seems to have got a lot better since I lost some weight. I'm not sure how much it is affecting me now as I appear to be ovulating.

I think as for cm, I'm no expert, but basically, if it looks like egg white, I consider it fertile. I get the white creamy stuff too. But that is not stretchy in my case. With ewcm, you should be able to stretch it between your fingers for say a few cm at least. I know this is way TMI and really quite euck, so sorry, but it's the only way for me to describe what I see. Basically, it really does look in my case, like egg white - except no yolk in the middle. I would worry if I saw that !!

I don't know how clomid affects all the above (charting, etc), but of couse I know it dries up ewcm.

hi you can get it from boots 14.99 hope it works for you

I find that EPO increases CM by a hell of a lot for me. I don't take it now because I do have a fair amount of it anyway and lots of EWCM for about 4 or 5 days before I ovulate. Like Lyns said, don't take it after ovulation but it definitely worked for me. Also maybe try using pre-seed. It is basically a replica for EWCM and I've read lots of success stories of people using that. Maybe these aren't the natural remedies you are looking for but it might be worth a try. The only problem I had with EPO was it made me feel a bit sick in the mornings but nothing major. I think you are actually supposed to take it with food though so perhaps that's why it had that effect on me. Didn't bother me though x

Hi ladies, I struggle with no EWCM too. I have only seen it once in 18 months! I take 2000mg of EPO in the first ohalf of cycle, drink grapefruit juice for a few days before I expect OV and drink gallons of water, but still no luck. I have tried preseed, zestica and also conceive plus and still no BFP. Just wanted to warn you though... it may just be me that's a bit weird, but I am quite sensitive 'down there' in that things like soaps, bubble baths etc upset the balance of things and cause me to get BV. Well we started using conceive plus about three months ago and after using it a few times I noticed symptoms of BV reoccuring. I have been to docs about it and they've confirmed its not a sexually transmitted infection, but is just something upsetting my PH. All I can think of is that its the conceive plus, so if anyone uses it you might want to be careful and just use a bit, especially if you are particularly sensitive down there. This probably won't apply to most people, but thought I'd share my experience just in case. xx
