Anyone else? Seems this week, I can't stop being hungry. I'm trying to eat healthy and not add on more calories. But, its so difficult.

All I think about is food. I lay in bed and think about tomorrow's meals.

I have this craving for chocolate ice cream. I do indulge in a cup of it a day. (Low fat.)

What are you craving? Any healthy meal ideas to share?

Im the same started about the same time aswell my tummy rumbles a lot.

I've been the same way! I found that if I have baggies with nothing but veggies or fruit handy in my fridge, I can grab one of those and munch on them! Though, I'll admit.. I always dip my veggies in peanut butter lol
I also found that cooking healthy meals ahead of time and placing them in Tupperware helps also. I can just pop it in the microwave and eat it :)

I crave chicken wings, like mad. Lol if I could go to Buffalo Wild Wings everyday for the rest of my pregnancy, I'd be one happy pregnant woman!! I found that baked cauliflower with hot sauce on it is AMAZING! And completely satisfies my cravings :) maybe google craving substitutes? That's where I found the cauliflower idea!

Good luck, momma! Don't forget, eating what you crave is good :) I think if you're only eating a cup a day of low fat, it shouldn't be a problem :)

I don't really have any specific cravings. I just want to eat everything and lots of it. I normally dislike cauliflower cheese (I'd prefer it without the sauce) but I am obsessed with it right now.

I cannot stop thinking about macaroni and cheese.
And they don't sell it here! I am seriously thinking about asking my cousin who is coming to visit for a few boxes. How pathetic!
Meat wise, hamburgers. A nice thick juicy hamburger. Totally doable though. Maybe next week :)
And smoked salmon of course. sigh

Half the time with me I'm so disgusted by almost everything I'm offered or even think to cook. Even thinking about food now gets my tummy churning. But then the are days when everything is amazing! Nothing specific, just anything in general.

I just eat whatever which I find helps get the cravings out of my system. I know If I ate a carrot stick instead of a biscuit id be still thinking about that biscuit hours later. Lol. Everything in moderation of course :)

I had hardly any appetite at all up until about a week ago and then all of a sudden I want to eat everything! My stomach rumbles if I don't eat and I still get nausea if I'm hungry so trying very hard to snack on healthy-ish things if possible. I've also developed a bit of an icecream obsession but have refused to buy any in order to remove temptation - I can't be trusted, if it's in the house i will eat it all! I've got low fat frozen yoghurt as a substitute which sort of fills the gap!

One snack I love at the moment is rye bread toasted and lightly buttered with mashed up avocado on top with chopped tomatoes. Yum!

Healthy meal ideas - We've had salmon or other fish with quinoa mixed with stir fried veggies. Stir fries generally, Moroccan lamb stew with couscous, home made curries and daal, filled pasta with big green salads, home made fajitas with plenty of guacamole (for me, love the stuff at the moment)...erm can't think of anything else as have also been indulging in naughty meals too. Whoops!

This thread... makes me even more hungry. It's just oatmeal for this morning. Hamburgers and salmon sound so good. I had a tuna melt last night. I had GD in my last pregnancy. So, I like to eat more proteins and veggies. Will definitely try the cauliflower and yum fresh pineapple.

I sometimes get very nauseated after eating yet. Especially in the evenings. This little girl doesn't like eggs. Anything your babies don't like?

Not sure if I can tell if she likes or doesn't like but she usually gets really active after I eat something big, unhealthy or sugary so I guess she likes it..
She's under the 10th centile so I'm sure a few big meals won't hurt. I did eat a sour sweet the other week though..Probably didn't like that much :haha:
I also like to eat a lot of salad, especially avocado! It's my favourite, hope she likes that too!

I know she doesn't like it because I get nauseated after eating it.

I like cold sugar drinks and the chocolate ice cream because they get her moving. Do you have a name picked out? Just a few more days and she'll be here! I bet you are ready! :)

My weakness is/was cheese. Cakes and cookies didn't sit we'll with me during the first tri, but cheese was a dangerous thing, and probably the reason I didn't lose any weight. Now that my appetite is back, I am refraining from buying cheese.

Yes, cheese can be fattening. It does have more benefit than sweets though. Calcium grows those baby bones. :)

Cheese is so good... lol

I'm a cheese fiend too. Although I restrict myself to one slice a day of sharp cheddar with crackers. It's my morning protein snack. Moderation is the key.

Actually, my only real craving that I can think of for my pregnancy (everything looks good to me) is for dairy. Cheese, cereal with milk, ice cream etc. We try to keep out house as free as possible of indulgence food. Otherwise it would be too dangerous to my weight control.

Ice cream always gets my little one moving too xD
Yes we're calling her Isabella Marie :) (izzy for short) Marie is in our family and it kinda flows well so we decided to use that.
Nope not long now. She could be here even sooner actually depending on the outcome of tomorrow's scan.

So dang exciting! <3

I love the name... Love Izzy, too! :)

I can't stop eating at the moment either. First tri I had bad morning sickness and so didn't really eat anything if I'm honest! But here I am at 20 weeks and for the last week or two I have literally done nothing but think of food. Unfortunately, I'm having cravings for sweet and rubbish things, and nothing savoury or even remotely healthy is satisfying them :(
I have eaten far too much cake and ice cream this pregnancy. I'm actually quite worried I'm going to develop GD! I must, must make a real effort to eat better :/

GD diet is eating mostly meats and proteins. Watch processed food, like that in cans. It's awful in carbs.

I know mine loves dairy as well. But mostly milk, and cheese if it's with something else. I used to eat plain cheese all the time as a snack but now the thought seems yucky!

Mine is a lot more picky. No chicken, no broccoli, no pizza it's weird!

Wow, no chicken or pizza? I would go crazy!

Bunch of Dairy lovers. Must be all those bones growing and getting stronger. :)
