infection after mc

Was hoping that someone else might have had similar experience. It's been 3 weeks since I had D&C, started getting pains last week, hoped it was AF making herself known. PAins got increasingly bad, doc told me had possible infection of fri and put me on antibiotics (didn't specify where infection was & I didn't ask - stupidly!!) Have been up half night crying with pains so severe and am starting to panic that caused by dtd too early and may have made TTC even more difficult now. I'm so worried. Going back to GP later so will ask her these questions, but wondered if anyone else had similar? Please help I'm very worried

With regards to the pain, personally I would get this checked out ASAP! Phone the hospital where you had the D&C and explain there is pain and the doctors have given you tablets, they should scan you just to make sure all has gone.

Oh hun...shouldn't you get a scan or something to check eveything came out? I really don't know, but don't let them fob you off...this is too important.

Hey, I don't know if this will be any help to you but here goes. I had a missed miscarriage in December, I was induced and gave birth on boxing day. 3 weeks later I was referred back to the mat hospital for test because of severe abdominal pains, they done a few tests and put me on 2000mg of antibiotics per day for 2 weeks. The pains did go within the first week of the pills. I seen my consultant last week and he's happy for me to start trying again straight away,.

Sweetie, its just a thought....have you done an OPK? My first ovulation, at 3 weeks after I had an MMC and ERPC, was agonising, with pain just like you describe. It lasted a couple of days and I went on to AF a couple of weeks later.

Your body needs to go through a 'cycle' so it may be a little early yet for AF, but you will most probably Ov before that....so it could be.

Sorry meant to say the tests they carried out were bloods, urine, internal, ultrasound & internal ultrasound. They were very thorough.

THanks for all your comments. Well doc said that she thought it very unlikely that was infection in womb etc as no bleeding or discharge, there is definitely an infection, but she thinmks it's bladder or kidney. She was very helpful when I told her of my concerns she has organised for me to have scan tomorrow to set my mind at rest. HAve done OPK and BFN so know it's neither of those. Having drunk a litre of cranberry juice and taking antibiotics since fri, the pain has definitely eased so feeling bit better today, but thanks all for help and willl let you know how it goes tomorrow... how harrowing is this, my firend has just had c section today, so can go and see her at the same time as having scan!!!???

Are you ready for that? Seeing the new baby I mean? Me personally seeing the new LO's has never made me mad. It dose upset me but not in a bad way, the baby smell and the soft skin, just love it!! Hope all goes well and thanks for updating. Thinking of you

Well, it's good news! Scan showed no signs of damge or any problems with uterus - I can't begin to tell you what a relief that is!!! We've been so worried that we got back to dtd too quickly and had caused an infection or some such like. I feel like there's hope again now. It was so grim returning to the same room I was told that my Soloman had died though!!! Unfortunately still have the pains, so still need to find cause but hopefully relatively simple now! Thanks all for kind words, my OH can't undertsand why I'm always on the PC these days, but you all make me feel sooooooooo much better!
