Well this seems to of been going on forever...

About 2 weeks ago I started getting dizzy spells and being sick again so doctors started investigating into why.
I have a very high white blood cell count and have now been on 2 courses of antibiotics 1)Augmentin 2)Trimethoprim and now the doctor has precribed me 3)Cefalexin.

I am suffering with really bad sickness so wondering if this is effecting the tablets working.

He precribed them after saying "I really don't know what else we can do?" Which doesn't fill me with confidence.

Has anyone else had problems like this?

What would you suggest?

:hugs:

I'm so sorry. Sounds just miserable. Are you still having dizziness? Have you had problems with inner ear infections or fluid in your ears? I'm sure they have checked all these things. Is your blood pressure OK? Sometimes your BP can cause you dizziness. I really hope they get things figured out and you can get some peace and relief. I had been on some meds through my pregnancy that have made me feel just awful, not antibiotics but anti-inflammatory meds and just made me feel horrid.

Yes still having dizzy moments, My left ear feels a little blocked.
My blood pressure is a little up and down but in the relms of normal.
I just want to enjoy being pregnant but at the moment hating every moment.

I am suffering from severe dizziness right now and my Bp plummeting makes me feel so ill too. I get drowsey, cold like I have a fever and my head always feel heavy with blocked ears. Sometimes I have no appetite and feel sick too. I blame it all on low bp and low iron.

I am taking prenatals, trying to walk about in the fresh air and sun as much as possible as well as drinking water and sleeping as much as possible.

If your white cells are still up, it could be you are fighting a virus due to a low immune system which is normal in pregnancy. If no antibios have worked so far, I'd be tempted to look into alternative causes of you feeling bad.

If on Wednesday when I go back who can I ask to be referred to? x

Have you seen a primary care physician along with your obstetrician or midwife? Your immune system is definately down due to being pregnant and as stated in the previous post a virus won't respond to antibiotics. Having stuffy ears and sinuses is normal during pregnancy and the excess fluid in the inner ear can cause dizziness. Most likely making sure you are well hydrated and try to get extra rest are your best bets. Also even if your appetite is not good making sure your blood sugar isn't dropping by eating several smaller meals and snacks during the day is a good idea. If you are feeling dizzy and weak try drinking some juice and a big thing of water and lie down to rest.
It really is frustrating to feel horrible while pregnant. I totally understand, I have had many teary days and angry times because I just want to enjoy being pregnant and have been hit with so many obstacles. :hugs:
