 hey ladies well i'm not a happy bunny as u can probs tell went to midwife yesterday n got told my wound is infected and may possibly have a blood clot n now i'm in so much more pain off to doctors today to get on some antibiotics  anyone had any experience with this? n any advice for healing or taking pain off in mean time? x

Hey hun
I was signed off by mw and two days later i stood up and puss ran from a small wound that had appeared. I was petrified but after a week of antibiotics the stickiness had gone and as my wound was well hidden under my mum tum i felt like it was getting too warm to heal properly. They told me to keep it dry but i started cleaning it eacg evening with just cooled boiled water. Drying it well and lying down to let the air get to it. I can totally sympathise as healing after a c section is bad enough without being told you now have an infection. After a couple of weeks i was all healed. Dont get too downhearted hun x

my wound did't get infected but i did have to have a d&c 2 weeks after c section and have been on lots of antibiotics since, i wanted to mention, it has had a terrible effect on my breast milk, if your breast feeding and the antibiotics you have been prescribed are metronidazole, i'd give baby formula instead, my milk had a bad effect on him when he had it and towards then end of the course has nearly dried up completely, despite my best efforts at pumping and dumping. x

I got an infection on the last stitch of my scar on my left side, I noticed it was wet from pus. I was out on antibiotics and given pads to cover it but that was the worst thing! Keep it clean each day and very dry and try to lie with your tummy up so it can get some air. It's healed well now but you can tell where it was as it looks like there was a hole there :( x
