My 1st pregnancy was 16yrs ago and I didn't even get BH's from what I remember. I have had tighenings and niggles sporadically over the last few weeks (worse if I've done anything too physical) today has made me a bit nervous though as its like period pains in my lower abdomen, groin and inner thigh area. I have also suddenly become really exhausted and pale looking. I have weird feeling in my lady bits at times when walking.

Is this normal, has anyone else had this? Just need a bit of reasurrance really and don't want to bother midwife if its nothing. Xv

I have felt like I've pulled every muscle in my vagina for weeks now! It's so uncomfortable and from what I've read it's pretty common too. The baby must be getting ready and engaged. I'm 41 weeks and 5 days and bubbas still not here though

Aww you must be feeling quite frustrated now then. I hope your little one makes an appearance soon. Its the period type pains that have thrown me. Helps to know its not just me. Was worried it might be a sign of him making an early appearance. X

The areas that are hurting may be a sign of spd Hun, look up the symptoms for spd online and see if it sounds like what you're experiencing. I only started with it at about 34 weeks but it can be agony, I was referred for physio straight away and have a support belt and crutches to help as its got worse. Some unlucky ladies get it much earlier so I can't complain (even tho I do!)

Thanks I will look it up. If im still the same tomorrow I will let the midwife know. X

I got period achy pains from 35 weeks on when baby started to engage. Also had constant braxton hicks last few weeks. 4 days over due now, so don't think it means anything, wouldn't worry x

Im the same back/leg/bum pain! Its really sore and really hurts! Sharp pains when I put pressure on in certain areas feels like its gonna give away! Its worse when u feel alone and people dont understand! Plus I think its more the fact when its constant and nothing helps it can get on top of you and really upset you! All worth it in the end tho! Just think not long to go! We can do this! Im dragging/crawling/hobbling/sliding my way through the house just to get to where I wanna be! Feel so daft lol! Hope ur all okay n feel better soonly! Im more frustrated coz im restless and wanna do stuff but it takes so long to move and hurts that I dont wanna so I feel useless! xox

Thanks for taking the time to reply, its put my mind at ease a bit. My main concern was him possibly coming early as im having a planned c section and havent got a date for that yet. :-) xx

I had an emergency section with my son after almost two days of labor we almost lost him. I was given a choice this time but after thinking long and hard (and changing my mind s million times lol) I decided I would opt for planned section as I didn't want to risk what almost happened last time happening again.

My due date is 6th Feb same as my son lol. So I presume they will take me in at 38 or 39 weeks. Not long for you now then...exciting times eh. Xx

Aww sorry to hear you had problems but im glad it turned out well I can understand it must have been a hard decision but as long as he arrives safe n healthy thats all that matters! Good luck with your section! Not long now and yes exciting times just getting restless now cant wait to meet my Baby! xox

I had an emergency section after almost two days of labor with my son...almost lost him. They gave me a choice this time and after alot of soul searching I decided a planned section was the way to go. You don't have long left now either :-) Can't wait for him to be here now xx

He will be 16 on 6th Feb :-) So it really is like starting again with this new LO. Xx

Well I saw the midwife and she told me bubs is 4/5ths engaged and that's why I've been having the pain. Xx

That's good news! Sucks you have to go through the pain.
I've been having some serious pain lately and feel nerves being mashed down low I haven't felt before and it hurts! Also feeling much more pressure when I have a BH. I don't see my ob until next Thursday, so i still have just over a week before I know anything.

I have had SPD since 16 weeks..and yes it can give cramps and cronic pain in your lower back, joint in your legs and pelvic bone...its horrible and stops you from even sleeping..best to go to your doc..even though all they say is take paracetamol!!! Cramping can also mean you could have a kidney infection...best to get it checked!!! good luck!!!

I'm having similar pains too. I had it with my first but not until I was term. It feels like my vagina will fall out lol. I've had a few really strong BH but nothing consistent. I have a midwife appointment this afternoon so I will ask her then but I think it's probably baby dropping along with some SPD.
