Instant notifications

How do I change my notifications in my subscriptions from instant to none?

User CP - Edit Option - Messaging & Notifications - Default Thread Subscription Mode - Select None - Save changes (bottom of page)

Thanks! Do you happen to also know why for some of the threads when I press "view first unread" it takes me to the very last post even if I have missed a few days worth? It only seems to do it for a few of my subscriptions.
