Insurance drives what we can do?

Hi Ladies! I'v spent most of my time over in TTC but we just had our consult with the RE and I think this will be my home for awhile. DH and I have been ttc for over a year and just finished four failed Clomid rounds. We are ready to move forward with some more agressive options.
Anyhow, I just got off the phone with the insurance company and they are mandating that we do 6 rounds of AI before they will cover IVF. We have a cap (Lifetime Cap). Once it's used up, that's it. . no more coverage. So, after 6 rounds of AI, we will have used up the 20K. . But they will cover it? But we will have met our cap so there is no money left to cover it. I am really upset about this. I can't believe an Insurance Company gets to drive our treatment and ultimately we wont be able to do the IVF unless we pay for it out of pocket! J
ust venting. . I know this is a long road, and this is just the beginning. . I'm already overwhelmed I just had to vent that out, DH isn't home yet so he'll hear about this later on. . . I guess we just have to pray that the AI works. . and perhaps it will!!
I shouldn't complain, I know there are tons of women who don't have the luxury of insurance coverage for this, I just can't help it though . . . .
So, I'm curious. What does an IUI cycle cost?
