Robyn has been exclusively bf since birth, but i want to introduce her to the bottle so that if i do go out i know that someone else can feed her.
i havent bothered expressive breast milk as i know Ewan would never take it but he would take formula, i have bought some prepacked aptamil which we tried the other day but she just screamed.
this was in an avent teat bottle so i have just tried a tommee tipee small neck bottle as the teats arent quite as hard. she seemed a bit more receptive but still wasnt keen.
I bought some closer to nature teats thinking they might fit avent but they dont, so might get a bottle to try.

how did any one else do combined feeding?

When we gave Poppy a expressed bottle feed we used Tommee Tippee CTN bottles and she was happy to take those (till she was about 4 months). We never tried her with formula though. Maybe it could be worth trying your LO with an expressed feed, just to see if she prefers it?

I combine feed. I give Meadow two bottles of aptimal. One at 11pm and one when she wakes at 3 or 4 am. I use MAM bottles.

Are to able to try expressing some (even just a little) into a bottle? Might help you find out whether its the bottle or the formula that she doesnt like.

I had this trouble - I found she would take tommee tippee closer to nature bottles but wouldn't take formula at room temp so i heated it up slightly and she will take it... Started doing this last week and our LO's are same age so it might work if not try doing it for a feed when LO is really hungry (means the pain of leaving a crying baby for a while tho) or go out so they have no choice.. Holly won't take a bottle for me but she will from OH i think its cos she smells the breast milk.

I have to get Meadows bottle at exactly the right temp as well. If its too cold she screws her face up.

I used to give harry ebm and he has the MAM bottles, he would only take a bottle if i heat up the milk and also ran boiled water over the teat to warm that up too

I give alfie expressed milk for a few weeks first to get him used to taking a bottle. Then give him the formula he likes his a little bit colder then room temp. I use tommee tipped CTN bottles with size 1 teats.
Hope this helps Hun

Jasper had the occasional expressed bottle, if I wanted a drink, or so I could go out, and when he was haviung a growth spurt also.

I recently gave him a bottle of formular and he took it without hesitation.

Maybe try giving her expressed milk, so she gets use to mummy's milk coming from a bottle, because they do taste (and smell!) very different.

haha!! Fred does this too! he makes a face like 'this isn't bobbie juice!'!!!

i have started giving him a bottle of Aptamil as his bed time feed i use tommee tippee CTN bottles but he has been taking an expressed feed from them for a while now so is used to them xx

good luck xxx

oh, also wear lots of layers so they cant smell your milk! sounds mad but it seems to work for me! xxx

faith wont take bottles from me but will from her dad, with a confused look on her face ass if to say 'i know i getting milk but i dont normally get it from you...'

I started with expressed milk in a NUK bottle then a carton of Aptamil in a NUK bottle. My husband always did his bottles for about 2 weeks then I tried and he took them from me too. It is tricky to time it right, but at the very start if he got too hungry/ upset he just wanted boob but also he had to be hungry enough to allow a bottle in his mouth.

Yes!!! the past two nights she has taken 4 oz of formula! Serina sent me some closer to nature 5oz bottles with newborn teats and she took both bottles from me and half from her dad too! also tried cow and gate forumula which actually tastes like breast milk! the aptamil she didnt seem to like but will try again.

Boobs are quite empty in the evenings plus with her increased evening feeding gives my boobs chance to refill again!
