Introduction and questions -ttc

Hi, been lurking for a while and thought it was time to post something. My partner and I are getting married (CP) in early November and would like to start ttc as soon as possible after this so we are currently looking for a donor. So my questions are - If you used a known donor, how did you find a donor? Did you have a legal agreement in place before starting ttc with him and if so was it expensive?

We were also considering using a fertility clinic abroad (Denmark) and I wondered if anyone had gone this route and if so how was it? This would have been our preferred option but due to work (I'm a teacher) it would be difficult to make repeat visits every month if it doesnt work straight away .

Hi ya, my wife and I are already CP (May 2009) we are ttc with a known donor. I am a member of a business forum and simply put a post on there asking was anyone by chance a sperm donor. 2 men come forward one of which we have gone with. He has not done this before.
We all got tested at the GUM clinic and waited for the results. All was clear and so we start in 2 weeks. We did join the Free sperm donors worldwide site and there are loads of donors on there but we had already chosen the chap from the other forum. My wife is also a teacher and so it would be impossible to go to a clinic abroad every month or every so often. It would also be hugely expensive. So far it has only cost us diesel to go see him and money for supplies!

I am also in the UK - North west and there was many on FSDW!!

Hi... Me n my wife have been married since 2010. We have been trying for the last 4 months n briefly tried last year.. With the traditional yet hilarious turkey baster. We have a few friends who have tried it that way n worked.. Theres a certain way to do it, plz note I am not a dr n not saying to try it.... Tho this time around we decided to do it the old fashioned traditional way..l so far it's been 4 months. Tho we really think we hit it this time. Ttw.. Now. Wishing every1 good luck, please reply.. This is the first chat I have found addressing our lifestyle.. N I love it. For those who would like to know, yes IVF is an option tho, we would much rather put that funds towards our child. We are very secure with our marriage. She has 3 boys of her own, ages 14-17; and I have a 12 yr old daughter. We are longing to raise and have a child together.. Baby dusts. N luck to all

Hello everyone! This is our first time posting and we are TTC. We've been married since 2011 and we just had our first IUI on July 10th. We are now in the 2WW and are keeping our fingers crossed! We did go through a cryobank which was actually reasonably priced. We did consider the "turkey baster" method, but with all the possible risks of infections along with my wife's medical issues we decided to go through fertility specialists. We wish you all lots of luck and will post our results soon!

Hey,
We used a donor from one of the UK websites (AI donor) we searched the site for people who lived close but not in the same town and messaged him..once this was done we chatted via email for a while asking all the questions that a needed to.. when we did meet this cost us nothing but travel expenses.
This was not our first donor.. But I'm happy to say our last.. If you want any info pm me for a chat x
