title pretty much says it all! she was draining her three ounce bottles so upped her to four but this seems like a lot. i dont want to over feed her. if i try and stretch her longer between feeds she fusses and cries.

Does seem a little more than average but tbh i feed my son what he wants, would rather a good eater than one that wont. If you stretched it out or gave less she'd prob fuss and cry. I do what suits her if it was me as she's so young.

I'd give her what she wants hun. When Sophie was around 3 weeks old she was feeding every 3hrs, i can't remember how much now but we got told she was having too much and we got told by the HV to "give her water" "play with her" and "take her for walks" to try and space the feeds out.

She was 3 weeks old, i didn't listen to her and fed Sophie when and how much she wanted and she cut out feeds herself an wasn't and still isn't overweight. She seemed to drink alot at first but soon settled onto 6oz bottles (again i can't remember exactly how old she was). and didn't drink anymore than that until she was around a year old and started to have 1 8oz bottle at bedtime (she still does). x

Seems fine bun some babies just need more than others, my boy did and my girl does, go e them what they want, they wont over feed and if they do they will sick it up x

My ds was having 3oz every 3 hours at that time. Different drs, hvs and midwives all had different opinions on it, some saying it was too much others saying feed baby what they like. He's now happily on 4oz every 3 hours. And these were the same people going on about dd not drinking enough. You can win when playing against guidelines!

My little girl will be three weeks old tomorrow and she's on 4ozs every 3-4 hours. The HV is aware of this and has no concerns, they are very pleased with her weight gain.

I therefore wouldn't worry, each baby is different and some will always feed more/less than others :)

My little girl, who is 4 weeks today, was drinking that much at 3 weeks and sometimes up to 6! Now she just drinks almost 5 oz. I wouldn't worry. Babies will stop when their full. Feed when their hungry is what I always think to myself :)

My LB was on 4-5 oz at that age and now he's 4 weeks and back onto 3-4oz every three hours. I'm assured they change and as long as they are gaining weight healthily, there is no reason to worry :).

My baba is 16 days old & drinks 3oz every two hours or so.. i also topped him up to 4oz feeds but still only wants the three although sometimes he will drink the whole 4oz's! and still want feeding again in 2 hours or so! I asked my health visitor today as i thought this was a bit excessive! and she said that if hes hungry, hes hungry! Formula is as close to breast milk now as there going to get it, so not to worry about over feeding him. :)
