Is being on any medication NOT helping TTC /not FS meds

Hi for a long time now ive often asked myself if my medication is effecting me TTC.
Its been 19cycles and 4years NTNP on and off .Ive been on my meds for over 4years.
Ive bi-polar since 2006 and have been on different medications to control my illness.At the moment im on 4 different medications.
Im NOT silly and ive asked my doctor and my shrink if these medications can stop me TTC .Their anserws were NO -my tablets shouldnt effect me trying to get pregnant .

But here's my theory before i was told i had bi-polar in oct 2006 .That same year i had a BFP before all this happend .I wasnt on any meds when i got pregnant.pregnacy didnt work out and i carried on NTNP ever since on and off and offically LTTC 19cycles .

I went docs after 11 months of TTC i suffer with bad mid cycle to my period -cramps .They are really bad they only started 7months ago .My doctor sent me for bloods and i ovulate fine .She then said the pain could be endo so i had a ultra sound and a gyno had a look at my womb .Again results clear.
Then she sent me for dye tests and again all normal.

O/h has high sperm so why cant we get pregnant.??Ive also just been told idont have enough white blood cells and i must keep having bloods taken every 3months.

My real point is ,are any medications effecting us enough to not be able to concieve???

Sorry but I don't know if your meds are affecting your fertility and if the docs say it is ok it may well be. Have you searched the net for ladies TTC also on the same meds?
Keep TTC and persuade docs for more tests!

I've always wondered this as well, as you know, I'm bipolar as well.

Same story as well, before I was on medication, I had a BFP, but had MMC at 6 weeks.

I'm trying to wean myself off the medication now, I've managed to get off the quetiapine, and I've halved my dose of amitriptyline, hardly take any diazepam, but still on the zopiclone at night.

I was also told that my medication was'nt affecting my fertility, but then I get on a paranoia one and think their telling me that because they think a 'mad' person should'nt have kids!!! (I know, maybe I should stay on the meds!!!)
All my friends keep telling me it can't just be a coincidence that since i've been on the meds I can't concieve, and that I should stop taking them, and I feel well enough to stop, so I'll see how it goes.....

Can't just be a coincidence that we both have this problem, can it?

Not sure about the meds that you are on but I had prozac for a while after having my little boy (had bad PND) and had to have all kinds of blood tests for thyroid etc as I kept being ill ALL THE TIME. Most of the docs just fobbed me off but one actually said that certain anti-depressants can lower white blood cell count and prozac was one of them, this would explain the lowered immune system. No other docs have agreed with this since then though so really don't know who to believe!! However i have looked into research into antidepressants and fertility/safety in pregnancy and it seems that if you need them you really should keep taking them, if they were that unsafe they wouldn't be allowed to be prescribed. However, like I said I don't know anything about the meds you take, sorry, just thought i'd let you know what i was told. Good luck, hopefully it will happen very very soon. x

hun ive got low blood count , found out a month ago so you're right must be meds .do u reckon this effecting ttc ???

im on exactly same meds as you cant spell lol but quetipine 400mg and amitrips - 150mg and valium 5mg and im on subutex for a old drug problem when i was 17 .11yrs ago now and im still on it .

However i did get BFP when i was subutex in 2006.I wasnt taking bi-polar meds back then.That started in 2007 after loss of baby .

You've such a similar backround to me , inbox me if you ever wanna talk meds or bi-polar

Also ive low white blood cells which means my ammune system is bad and i belive all the trouble started when i was put on quetipine .only got put on it 7months ago.Since then ive bad stomach cramps all time and now got bad blood cells .xxx
