is it time to opt IUI? pls suggest...

we r trying#1 for past 1 yr, had an early miscarriage in aug '12,
after that tried 1 round of clomid but switched to femara coz of uterus lining issue.
this is my 3rd round of femara (5mg, cd 4-8) with trigger shot.
we have done hsg fallopian test and semen analysis...all results are normal and good.
it's been long but no success yet. we r thinking of iui like options....but don't know we shud opt it now or wait a few more months. doctor is open to both as we have unexplained infertility..m really confused and worried now.
any advice is welcome...it will definitely help

Hi Elina! I have unexplained infertility as well. My DH and I have been trying for 1.5 years; 11 months of that time with the help of an RE. I did 3 Femara cycles, then switched to Clomid cycles with IUI. I've done 2 IUIs so far. Never had a BFP. My RE seems to think after 3 cycles of anything if you haven't had any luck you should move on to something new. Another factor in my decision to move on to IUIs was that I'll be 30 on Friday and have a low-ish ovarian reserve, so I really can't afford time-wise to wait too long. It is definitely a personal decision but if you aren't too worried about the cost, I would say to go for the IUI on your next cycle if your RE is willing to do that.

Another option to try before moving on to IUI if you haven't already is to add in Follistim injections along with the Femara and trigger shot. Follistim is supposed to help the follicles grow and mature.

Hi there.....
I woudl give IUi a try...I have had 2 done so far..and it takes all the guess work out of what cycle day to "bd" and hope your not to early or too late...what position to do it in..keeping legs up in air for 15 mins, and not spilling any ( if you know what i mean).
Not sure of the costs where you are..but it was only $500 or so. including the trigger shot and 3 ultra sounds to track ovulation. It didn't work for me yet.. but I'm 41 so, my eggs might be a bit spoiled...

hello Prayerful, CHILLbilly ...thank you for ur response. i stopped checking this thread bcoz there were no replies for initial few days..
this month i had 3rd round of femara+trigger (along with preseed)...my ob/gyn suggests similarly, so if faild this month, most probably we will opt iui next cycle..
how i wish i didn't have to do so...
