Is it too early for Violet to drop a bottle?
She's 4 weeks and 1 day old and she's had a routine now for a couple of weeks.

Usually, she'll have a bottle between 10-11pm and then she'll wake up between 2-3am and finish another bottle.

But the last couple of nights, it's got to 3.30am (her last feed being 10.30pm) and she's only just stirring, making a few grunts and groans but not actually crying, whereas before she would properly cry.

Does it sound like she's getting ready to drop that bottle..? I don't know when to start expecting her to drop it.

At the moment, as I'm awake anyway, I'll pick her up and feed her as if I let her go too much longer without feeding her then it'll muck up all her feeding times and at the moment, she's got really convenient feeding times so I want to keep it that way lol

my little one dropped his night feed around 5-6 week and has slept from 10-6am since sometimes even 8am lol!! sounds like she could be getting ready to drop it, and it shouldnt mess her feeding routine up, sorry im not much more help x

Liss dropped hers loads later BUT I think it was because she would wake in night and Id jump up make a bottle and feed her, I never gave her chance to get back to sleep without a feed. I then learnt to soothe her a little and she'd go back. Now sometimes she'll wake lie there kicking her legs for a bit then suck her hand or thumb and go back off. Most nights she sleeps right through. I guess its just a learning thing. You gotta learn to work out your baby and what they need rather than going by the book. I know they should have a certain amount of milk so try get that in her in the day or an extra oz before bed and see how she goes. She'll soon tell you if she wants that feed in the night lol. When I thought Liss was ready, I gave her an extra oz before bed and since then she has slept 11-12 hours. Love her:hugs:

Well I guess she answered my question last night - she went from 11.30pm - 6.30am. She did wake up grunting and groaning around 4am but giving her dummy back worked. She grunted and groaned until 6.30am when she actually cried. Lets see how she goes tonight!

I think she's getting enough milk - she's been a greedy piggy since birth and has been having 5oz bottles for a while now. Hopefully that's still enough if she drops a bottle.

If she needed the bottle she'd let you know ;)

agree with vickie! at 6weeks maddi started sleeping 8 till 8 so she dropped all her night feeds by then, but she ate very well in the day to compensate, and still does. sounds like she's doing great x x

Great that sounds promising .... Ridley was feeding at about 7pm then we would put him down to sleep then he would wake at 12 then 3 then 5 arghh .. but all of a sudden I did one feed at 7ish ... bathed him using Johnsons bedtime routine bath ... then he seemed hungry so i fed him more all in all he took 9oz  then I put him to sleep and he went off 9pm and I was in shock when he didnt wake up until 4.30 couldnt believe it! x then the night after i did the same he slept 9-5am ... then last night as we were out he didnt get to bed until 11 but i did the bath thing again and he slept until 6am ... this has only been the last 3 days, do what you think is best hun xx
