Is it wise to still use KY?

Hi everyone,

I usually post in WTT but lately the pill has been giving me awful migraines with aura so I need to come off it, and we're thinking of NTNP. Question is, should we still use KY Jelly? Will this make getting pregnant harder?

Supposedly, yes, KY isn't recommended for TTC because it can make it harder for healthy sperm to swim the way they need to. You can buy sperm friendly lubes that are safer for sperm. But that said, obviously lots of women have gotten pregnant while they were using KY, both planned and unplanned pregnancies, so it's not going to cut your chances to 0%. If it was me, I'd either stop using a lube altogether or buy one of the sperm-friendly ones. They're expensive, but a little goes a long way. We got pregnant pretty fast, but still I have like at least 3/4 of the tube left since you really don't need that much.

We used KY and now have an 11 month old

Make sure there is no spermicide in it.

I heard that if you use water based lube it helps because it isn't as thick as oil based.
