Hi,

Kate is 10 weeks old and currently feeding;

8am - 7oz (Hungry milk)
12.30pm - 6oz (Hungry Milk)
5.pm - 7oz (First stage milk)
9pm - 7oz (Hungry milk)

She settles well after the 9pm sleep and sleeps right through but during the day she seems to be crying constantly unless asleep. It feels like she has quite large feeds compared to other babies her age.

She was 10lb 10oz last week when weighed.

Should I try smaller feeds over a shorter period during the day.?

Erin's the same age as your LO, and is having 6oz feeds, but 5 times during the day, only about 3 hrs apart. She was 12lb 6 when she was weighed last week. Every baby is different, and your LO wouldn't take those bottle if they didn't want/need them:thumbup:

Well done on getting that routine. At 10 weeks we were taking 7-8 6oz feeds!!

The crying could be anything tbh....teething, tiredness, too hot or cold, boredom? If it was too much she would be sick to get rid of any excess.

i dont think she is taking too much - Lana has 5 bottles a day 7oz in them

my lo is 5 weeks old and taking 6-8 6-7oz feed a day! He was 12lb 6oz when last weighed last week though so hes a big baby (on 98th centile!). Dont think your lo is taking too much :thumbup: x

My LO is taking 5 5oz bottles aday. 1 or 2 feeds on hungry baby milk. i wouldnt worry your LO is taking too much... they will only take what they need x

Thank you all for your replies. Someone I know made a comment about it being a lot and it made me worry.

:hugs: to you all.

I dont think it's too much at all hun. Sounds about right. If you add it all up, it comes to 27oz which is about what Evie was taking at that age. She takes around 28 -30 oz per day now.
It just looks like alot cos it's spread out over 4 bottles whereas with Evie, she was taking 5 or 6 bottles per day and therefore had less in each bottle.
Some babies prefer to eat smaller amounts more often and some prefer to have bigger bottles at each sitting, each one is individual :)
