I have some issues with my doctor (mainly that he looks about 12) but whenever I see him with LO he always asks if she is my first and then pats me on the head and tells me I am worrying about nothing! :nope: when I know she is poorly!

LO has never been a good pooer! Has been on comfort milk and dosen't do oher milks! Still didn't poo. Lactulose made her so unclomfortable it was a disaster. So dr said (after not knowing what comfort was) to put her on solids.

Well I really want to do BLW (read the book and thought it would suit my lo and her tempremant) but if weaning would help she is too little to self feed now and also wouldn't eat much anyway. I will do spoon feeding if it would help her but not totally sure it would

So my question is after that long explaination is..... has anyone weaned at 5 months to help digestion and wind/comfort issues?

Really don't know what too do.

I've no idea why solids would help at all, does anyone else? Drs and HVs seem to recommend weaning as the answer to every problem

No idea why weaning early would help. Have you tried giving her water? It usually works a treat.

No idea why weaning would help - in my experience it has the opposite effect in some cases, unless we have something involving pear

just to reassure you though, she'd be fine to BLW from now. Earl has been self feeding from pre-loaded spoons since 19 weeks, so it can be done.

Personally though, I would get a second opinion. Is there another Dr in your practice?

i would of thort it would do more harm than good as wheb weaning they get buged up more

well combined she now hasn't taken with the poo issue she now won't take more than 4oz a feed (since friday!) and screams at her bottle.

So a very unhappy baby and a confused mummy.

I'm not sure why that would help either. We've been having the opposite problem and Alice is now far more constipated and windy than before. I don't know what to suggest - some people give a little water, have you tried that?

Can't offer an answer I'm afraid but just wanted to say how patronising your Dr seems to be!! Are you able to switch Drs??

Well we are off to see hv tomorrow to see if they can help. Might askl to see another dr if still going on by weds.

On a happier note LO snogged loads of veg blw style at sunday lunch. yay! something going well!!

Strange thing for the doctor to suggest - we have harder nappies now LO is on solids!

When we gave Carter solids he got constipated so i dont know why the doc would suggest that. We started giving him water after his solids no more constipation.

i think i read somewhere that apple juice could be given to help constipation??
