So when I was having my boys I didn't feel either one crowning until I was checked by the nurses then I felt how close they were to being born. I didn't have any type of pain meds with either so I know that isn't the case. Is there something wrong with my body that I don't feel them being ready to be born? I know I am going to sound crazy when I say this but that is one thing I really wanna be able to feel and I never have....So I can't help but wander if there is something wrong with me that prevents me from feeling this. I feel things during sex and things but never during childbirth other than contractions. I just kind of feel left out hearing other women tell how they could feel the baby coming and things ya know again I know I sound nuts....:dohh:

Nothing wrong with your body, each of us are different. Some women contractions are nothing. Some are screaming in pain. Nothing wrong :) just different.

I felt the contractions it was the baby I couldn't feel moving down getting ready to come out and I feel so left out when I hear other women say I felt him start to come out you know cause my body for some reason doesn't feel it.

I think I know what you mean, with my first I didn't feel anything. I was 7 cms, I had contractions and the urge to push and I pushed but didn't feel anything after that. I didn't even feel like he had been born.
With my second I actually felt him crowning, it was horrible lol..so be careful what you wish for :haha: but He was a big boy (10lb 11) and I felt his head there and the crowning and the pain ..so different from my first birth! I wondered if I was too high on gas and air for my first but I don't know it definitely felt strange not feeling anything. Kinda numb!

I must admit I had to ask if the head was coming down or not both times, as I didn't really get a sense it was there. 1st baby was back to back so I was told to forcefully push and he came out too fast and face up. 2nd baby I felt a stretch as his head actually came out and that's about it, then the rest of him shot out like a bullet! Deffo no pain either time (aside from the contractions obv, they killed lol) both mine were in the 7lb range tho so maybe I've just been lucky!

Nothing wrong with your body at all. I was terrified of feeling the baby crowning and "the ring of fire", had pain relief and still kinda felt the ring of fire. However i didn't recognize the urge to push at all. In fact I just felt so much pressure/pain that I was fighting against it.

When I was asking mom about the ring of fire she said she's never felt anything like that. Except with my youngest sibling as he was breech. Well. I was also born breech but she said she knows for sure she hasn't felt anything.

I think it probably just means you're very good at getting your body into a relaxed state during birth and that's a good thing. I had a completely natural birth and honestly I didn't find crowning to be that painful (and I had a 2nd degree tear as well). It was 'stretchy' feeling, but not like 'oh my god, worst pain ever, screaming in pain' painful. My daughter's head was right there, like I could feel it, wasn't coming out, but was starting to sorta hang out a bit at the opening for probably 2 hours and I was walking around the house comfortably. I just think some people are different than others.

This is a good thing IMO!! :) I think if the exit is a bit on the slower side you will feel it less. there is more time to gradually stretch, plus I believe the nerve endings will shut down the pain receptors. You must have a smart birth canal lol. Perhaps next time you could ask for a mirror so you can see the birth even if you don't feel it.

l think other women need to know these types of births are common too. We always hear of the pain of crowning and the ring of fire but it is not necessarily the case and can make women very nervous about childbirth. I also had a med free birth but felt very little sensation and absolutely no pain on pushing. I was pushing her out for just under six hours though so in my case her exit was very gradual ;)
however, I didn't perceive the time passing. & due to the slower exit I had a very minor tear that only required two stitches. I am a 110 lb first time Mom who birthed a nearly 9 lb baby. If I could do it anyone can :)))
