Is There Any Hope At All?

Hubby and I have been TTC for the past two years without success. Went to see GP a couple of months ago. Referred hubby for a sperm sample analysis. Hubby rang GP practice earlier today and they gave him results over the 'phone.

Total sperm count 1.7 million/ml (very low), 40% dead sperm, 66% immotile, 4% rapid progressive motility, 5% normal forms.

We've got an appointment tomorrow to discuss the results with our GP but, on the face of it, these aren't great results. We're obviously very concerned now that even IVF won't be possible.

Is there any hope at all?

yes there is hope. My dh and I are in the same boat, if not a very similar boat to u and your dh. My dh SA was 2.7 million and 11% motility. He has just been for his second SA last week and we are still waiting on the results. U have to keep in mind that that is only one test and any number of things could have gone wrong with the sample. I know u need a certain percentage of good swimmers for iui but ivf is a different ball game. I put up posts on some of the pregnancy forums because i really needed to hear of people who had been in my position who got their BFPs and i got so many responses that lifted my spirits. Look up my threads and the reponses will give u hope too. And my dh quit the smokes and is taking fertilaid for men and maca tablets since the first SA result. We should be getting the result in the next couple of days so if theres an improvement i will let ya know. Keep the chin up xx
