I have had a terrible few days with my son, he is 14weeks old and has been feeding what seems like alot over the past 4days, i have been ill myself and he has been having a mixture of breast and formula, mostly breast, although after the day feeds he just doesnt seem satisfied and almost seems anoid that my breasts are empty, so ive been offering a topup of formula which he guzzles down. I have been feeling very down today and am considering totally switching over to formula now as i just want him to be happy. Plus im dreading the thought of going out in public and having to mess with breast and formula as im not and never will be overly comfortable with bf out and about anyway. Is it possible i would still be able to do just a morning feed as breast? As my breasts are very full at this time or would it just gradually fade away?

Thanks all..

If you only want to feed once a day that's fine hun but you do sound like you have a lot going on with being ill and what does sound like a spurt. If you really want to stop then of course it's best to be happy but just bear in mind you might feel better in a few days :hugs:

Hang in there honey - to get to 14 weeks you really have done all the hard work already. Well done xx

Ahhh, thankyou so much for that message, i do love feeding myself and am so proud of what i have achieved when i look at my lovely little man. I hate the thought of giving up but am fed up of being so confused about his feeds, is he hungry, has he had enough? i feel im constantly analysing it all and end up with 'brain ache'. Suppose i cant complain too much as he has started sleeping the whole nite since i have been ill, bless. I have a very supportive mum and husband but they've said its my ultimate decision. I will see how this week go's as i know i am quite low and emotional at the mo, plus had the worry that it was the dreaded swine flu, but im getting bak to normal now
. Thankyou so much for your message, it really means alot.xxx
