is this normal

well alys is now 12days old, she normally feeds every 3-4 hours and takes about 3oz, she feeds alot better at night time, but i think its because shes more alert at night, today i went to give her her 11am feed and she only took like 1.5oz and then fell asleep and i cant wake her long enough to feed her, will she just wake as she wants it, i feel like im depriving her or something, and with the problems i had in hospital with her sodium levels dropping due to being sick i am paranoid about her being sick all the time.

any advice or reassurance would be great.

Tyler sometimes falls asleep on his bottle hun and when he was your LOs age he was only drinking about 2oz some feeds so try not too worry too much xx

leyla always falls asleep when im feeding her, i was told to lay her down on her mat if she was getting too sleepy, then she would wake up again and to try again, or to change her nappy or clothes, just to wake her up enough to finish her feed, u dont want to get into the 'too little too often' habit that leylas in lol, its a nightmare, she feeds every hour cos she wont take enough at each feed, that said, i wouldnt worry too much if its just a few times she takes less, its not going to harm her is it

I was told to change the diaper before a bottle when they are that little so they are more awake for the bottle, and that way you can just let them sleep afterwards without having to worry about a diaper change. Plus, it usually needs changed anyways (did with Colton anyways, lol) like everytime they wake!

I think that's pretty normal! I know at some sittings LeeAnne will eat only an ounce whereas other times she will eat 3-4 in a sitting. I just feed her when she is hungry.
