Is this safe to do?

I have looked online on inhousepharmacy for domperidone as ive heard good things about them and they do free shipping.

They have three different brands of domperidone. The cheapest brand says only take three tabs a day but one of the more expensive brands says for breastfeeding take up to eight tabs a day. Considering the ingredients and mgs are the same for each brand should I just go with the cheaper ones and up the dose regardless of it saying 3tabs a day?

The reason the others only say one tablet three times a day is because that's the therapeutic dose for the digestive/stomach problems domperidone is licensed for. Increasing milk production is an off label use and this is why most versions don't mention it on the label. The usual dosage for breastfeeding is 3 tablets 3x a day but this advice can vary, apparently the BMI of the mother plays a factor xx

I wouldn't even think about going online - you can get them in Boots and Superdrug. It might be pricey but safer!

Thanks, yeah I thought it was probably just because that isnt specifically what the meds are for.

Ive spoke to many women who used inhousepharmacy for this and they have had no issues so will probably just go for it. I cant afford to buy it over the counter unfortunately esp if I start upping the dose and need to use it for more than a few weeks.

I've used inhousepharmacy with no problem for years, gotten domperidone from them at least three time over the years. They are reputable!

Glad to hear from someone om here who has used them I will wait till ive tried to persuade the GP for more tabs before I use them but atleast I know where to get them from now I can relax a bit

I've been considering getting some doperidone. How should it be taken and how long until you can tell if it's working or not. I'm not sure the fenugreek is working for me any more and LO still isn't satisfied at the breast so I'm having to top him off by FF. :/

Well, I will give you my relactation milk production figures and when I started using the pump and then taking the domperidone so you can get an idea of how they have worked for me so far.

Ive been takinh fenugreek tabs (8-12/day) for a few weeks but their effects seem to have dwindled off leaving me only getting around 10-15 mls/day. I was only hand expressing then. I started using my medela symphony double pump 11 days ago (8/9 sessions/day). After the first couple of days where I was pumping and only drops were coming out I then saw a slight increase in my daily production to 15-20mls.

I started the domperidone 7 days ago (monday). The first two days I was taking the prescribed 3/day but saw no change at all so I upped it to 5/day taking two in the morning, one mid-afternoon and two at night. I have been doing that each day now and my production is as follows:

Start:
Monday: 15mls
Tuesday: 20mls
wednesday: 20mls

(upped dose to 5/day)
Thursday: 40mls
Friday: 50mls
Saturday: 60mls
Sunday: 80mls (still need to do 1 more pumping session tonight too!)

.... So since starting the tablets I saw a difference on about day 3... But that may be because I upped the dose, maybe if I ha started off on the higher dose I would have seen instant results...?

It is a massive increase from what I was getting before I was pumping/taking tabs but Compared to how much he drinks in a day it just seems like a pitifull amount... We still have a long, long way to go.

Once I get more tabs either from docs or online I will up to 9 tabs a day and hopefully that will increase things more dramatically. But I am steadily increasing daily atm so I am trying to stay positive! (despite my mini melt down about it all in my other thread!)
