Is this sperm analysis result normal?

Hi everyone

So my sperm donor has had his sperm analysis results back. It was 180M/ml. Now that seems to be really high to me. He does consume a lot of zinc which increases sperm count and motility. He also abstains from sex quite a lot. Could they be the attributing factors to his high result? I don't really know anything about sperm testing

Wow, that's a very high number!! It even sounds scary. lol 50M/ml is like normal. That is more than thrice.

I think brace yourself because you are defo gonna be preggy with that level. .

the more the better! Do you know the breakdown though? The motility and morphology etc? I would be a little worried about the quality if he abstains from ejaculating for long periods, though of course as long as your donation isnt left too long am sure it will be fine! Good luck!

my dhs sa was 125 million and doctor was pleased with that. I dont think you can have too much and ive heard of some having 200+

That is high! The paperwork I have says anything greater than 50 is normal.

I too would be curious about the motility, degree of movement, and morphology. A high count is great, but unfortunately there's more to it than that.

Yes, I see what you're all saying. I don't know the breakdown myself but I can ask him. I think I should add that when I say he abstains from sex, I mean sexual intercourse. He's a regular sperm donor though (AI) so obviously ejaculation happens quite often xx
