Hi ladies

Just wondering if any of you have this??

I started with insanely itchy hands n feet last week n it has since turned out to be disgnosed as Obstetric Cholestasis. The doc said it is more common in twins n multiples pregnancies

I have been given steroids to help develop the babies lungs just in case of early delivery......

They r monitoring me and the twins more closely......Got a scan on my live n gallbladder on thurs also

I didn't have this but I did have the itchy rash on my belly, arms, and legs. Turns out it was PUPPPS and it was MISERABLE!!

I didn't have this either, but I did get a rash around 20 weeks, started on one leg, ended up on both legs, arms and back of hands. Dermatologist said it was eczema due to pregnancy hormones. I still have it somewhat on my legs but it has cleared up everywhere else. Good luck with it hun, rashes are never fun!

Hi hun, was tested for this due to insane itching on my tummy, arms and legs - drove me nuts, especially at night. SO sorry you've got OC- it can be miserable, but atleast now they've spotted it and can treat you.

There is an OC website you can subscribe to where other sufferers offer fab advice/support. Good luck hun xxx

My friend this and I dont want to scare you but the doctors missed it at first and she ended up being induced at 39 weeks.. Her daughter should have been born at 36 weeks.. She was very lucky.. Make sure you call them if anything changes. Or if you dont feel right. It can cause still birth. I am sorry if I have frightened you but I watched my friend go through having this and it was hard, like I said she was lucky...
Good luck hun

So sorry to hear you've been diagnosed with OC, MrsCullen.

I had the exact same thing and it drove me insane - like you, I started off with extremely itchy hands & feet which then spread to my legs, arm, back, everywhere, as the pregnancy progressed. At the very end I was up all night with it - on the positive side, it got me used to being awake all through the night once the boys were here!

My obgyn let me wait out until 37 weeks and said if I didn't deliver naturally before then he'd schedule a csection, which is what I had.

One word of warning for after you deliver (and I wish someone had told me this!) - because the bile levels etc are all out of whack with OC, you have to watch your fat intake for around 12 weeks until everything goes back to normal. I just carried on eating as normal and had a 'gallbladder attack' around 7 weeks after giving birth. The pain was horrendous (worse than giving birth without any drugs), so don't overdo the cake & chocs until you've had the 12 week liver function test to ensure everything's as should be!

Good luck and feel free to shout if you have any q's! x
