It's alright for me to mix fruit with porridge, right?

She will NOT eat breakfast, so I put some banana "first tastes" in with it, just a baby spoon full and she loved it. That's alright isn't it? If I try different fruits every few days mixed with it?

Just be careful not to give her too much fruit, if she starts crying lots it could be coz her tummy hurts. Not that I have a baby, just experience with others, I was always told you're meant to start them off on vegetables before fruits.
Don't think a banana is that acidic though, steer clear of things like apples too much tho.

She doesn't cry lots, last night was a one off, and she hadn't even had anything yesterday lol

Just said that because my cousin's baby was always crying lots and they told her she was eating too much fruit too early. I think banana would be fine but wait to hear from other mamas xx

She only had a spoonful. I'm pretty sure people give their baby more than that? I was just wondering if it's alright to mix it? Sorry maybe I wasn't specific enough.

I think bananas are good. My midwife gave a weaning talk and she said to wait till they're a bit older to give them acidic fruits like apple and orange but soft fruits like strawberries and bananas are good but they do have to have some sort of fruit when they start weaning because it's good for them. But then she also said not to give them to much as it will give them a sweet tooth... I haven't given her any fresh fruit yet, just pureed fruit out of a jar

It was out of a jar and I just mixed a little bit with porridge because she wouldn't eat it plain. I don't blame her, I tried a bit

yuck, I won't try it, I just test the temperature on my wrist. Its looks and smells disgusting. But yeah, if it's out of a jar then I can't see the problem if they make it especially for young babies

I always mix fruit with Sam's breakfast :D

And I taste everything he eats too...even his tasty carrot and breast milk mush I first gave him  x

My mum tests Grace's bottles by drinking a little bit. It's so gross. I can't stand the smell of it. Now if then did baby chocolate then that would be a different story

And I was always curious about breast milk but I never tasted it... I guess I'll never know now!

Mixing fruit into her food wont do her any harm at all hun, if anything it will give it a better taste. I tend to give Ruby porridge with banana for breakfast and then half a jar of savory for lunch and then the remainder for her dinner x

Thats fine tor ;)

Ella is the same , she needs flavour in it! You tasted SMA! yuk lol.
Aptimal smells disgusting god knows what it tastes like.

I'm sure its fine Toria. My boy has been getting fruit since he was 4 months. Its only now that we give him 3 meals which includes fruit for lunch and veggies for supper that its causing a problem with him waking at night so we are going to cut out the fruit at lunch (he was eating the full 120ml jar) and then alternate between fruit and veggies for supper again.

I can't see that a spoon will do any harm. Its actually a really good idea and I think I might just try it. My boy has gone off his rice cereal and I can't give him any of the flavoured ones because they contain wheat which I've been told not to give him because of my allergies.

Sure its fine! My caitlyn can't handle banana though it comes out faster than it went in  she likes the taste of it though

xx

Yeah perfectly fine:) I always mix fruit into baby rice for Jack as he loves it! I try everything Jack eats/drinks too. Cow & Gate milk actually isn't that bad..
