It's NOVEMBER why is there a massive wasp in my bathroom? No windows were open, so am I right to assume there's a big fat wasp nest in my loft?

:cry::cry: OH at work until midnight-ish! I'm so scared! I've shut the door and blocked the bottom with a towel but what if there is more? It's HUGE! At least 4cm!

It may be the queen, they go into hibernation so she might just not have gone yet

There shouldn't be any active nests at this time of year so I wouldn't worry too much about finding any more

I found a queen walking across my bedroom floor last December

I'm itching all over. This is worse than finding a spider...

Omg I really wish I hadn't opened this thread! Hope you get it sorted legohouse. It can't hurt you from another room!x

It sounds like the queen and shes looking for somewhere to hibernate, we had two nests last year which we needed to get sorted out but thankfully none this year! I wouldn't of thought at this time of year it would be an active nest, just get your OH to kill it when he gets home and hopefully you won't see any more xx

Aww. Go in armed with a tea towel and Hoover :)

Tbf I've never been bothered by wasps. Spiders are my fear... And I was so proud of myself as 2 days ago i captured a massive one nod threw it out :)

hope you get it sorted. im a massive baby id be crying and screaming!
i hate wasps with a passion!

Did you manage to get rid of it? xx

My OH came home and killed it. I don't think there was much life left in it really. It didn't move the whole time, and it didn't even try to fly away when my OH went for it. I hope there is no more!!!

Glad your OH sorted it. I don't mind wasps, but if they're around when it's not summer they're really weird and dozy!

Thats good, it sounds like it was the queen to me so hopefully there won't be any more! xx

We had a gigantic wasp in our bathroom too the other day. It was freezing outside.
