Hi girls.

I haven't been on this section for a while. Just wanted to ask for any ladies that had IUGR first time round did you get it again?

I had IUGR last time but even though baby was small they were happy to let me go to 38 weeks -I was having scans every 2 weeks-. Well at 36 my waters broke and K was here only a few hours later. I'm wondering if I gave birth early because my body knew baby needed to be out... or if I'm just one of those people who birth early. So now I'm worried about a) having IUGR again and b) having an early baby again.

Any thoughts?

My first was IUGR. My other 2 were not. I'm on #4 and the Dr is suspecting IUGR again as he feels really small so I have a growth scan at 35 weeks. My fundal height has been all over the place -2, -2, +3, now bang on. Baby is also breech so she wants a position scan if he was head down then I would have gone for a growth scan this week or next.

Your preterm delivery isn't common from all I've read from IUGR. Usually if they are IUGR and come early it is due to induction. There is a higher risk of fetal demise but not preterm labor. You will likely be at higher risk for preterm but not necessarily will it happen. My long time good friend had her first at 36w and her second at 40w1d (10lbs 7oz no time for meds except gas eek!)

Thank you for sharing your story! I hope all goes well this time! :flower:

My Dr wants to book a scan at 35/36 weeks. Turns out baby is breech this time and feels really small.
