Hello Ladies!

First of all - STICKY VIBES to all of you! :winkwink:

Well, I "triggered" this morning at 5am - and scheduled for IUI at 4pm tomorrow (35 hours post trigger). This was a Gonal F/Menopur cycle - my first. The doctor saw 4 "good sized" follies on u/s yesterday - 19mm/17.5mm/16mm/14mm.

I'm a little worried that I may possibly ovulate prior to IUI? Probably just nerves and scared to death!!!

Has anyone else been in this boat and felt the same way? Can anyone share past experiences with IUI with me?

I can always count on you ladies!

I should also mention! Sorry :-(

I have been told that if you ovulate on your own prior to IUI that you release only the dominant follie. The trigger will release the rest of the mature follies anywhere from 24-48 hrs later....is this true???

Thank you again ladies...I anxiously await your advice and help!!!

I had IUI but was slightly different from most people in that she gave me the trigger shot right AFTER the IUI - I was completely confused by this and actually lost all confidence in my OB thinking she didn't know what the hell she was doing - but I got my BFP that cycle, so that shut me up!!

I had v short cycles though and always OV'd quite early, so perhaps she was confident that I wouldn't ov too late anyway. She told me that the washed sperm can live up to 3 days (although I have read conflicting info online). Remember though that the egg can live up to 24 hours, and so if the doc saw your follicles still there yesterday, and you have the IUI today then I dont' think you can ov too early to catch them. Can you ask the doc to scan again at the time of IUI? that's what i did.

Thanks Happy!!! .... and congrats!!!!

I have heard a lot of people say that a I should ask for a scan at the time of the IUI - So I believe this is what I will do.

I had an Orgalutran injection last night at 9pm (to ward off ovulation) - and then the trigger at 5am this morning. when I spoke with the nurse practitioner, she stated that 36 hours is optimal...so I am just going to take their word for it!

Wish me luck! I'll post again after I get home from the appointment!

Thanks for replying to my post!

Happy?

Were you using injectibles on your cycle? What was the length of your cycle? I had a very short cycle of 22-24 days typically. This is my first cycle with injectibles, so still in the learning process!

no - no injectibles, I took 50mg clomid CD2-6. My average cycle length was about 24 days, although was between 22 - 26. I was usually ov'ing on CD12, but with this cycle we did the IUI on CD12 and I believe I didn't ov until CD13 or even CD14. My OB said that the clomid would possibly lengthen my cycle, and the fact that I had 3 follicles would prob help delay ov.

Good luck - keep us posted x

Just an update ladies!

Well...had IUI this afternoon! OB assures me that I had not ovulated at all and that hubby`s sample was `great`and everything else was in place! All of my numbers are good too!

Now just the 2WW! Ugh - I hate this part but thinking positive, happy thoughts!

Thank you ladies!

Wendy
