what are exactly the chances do get pregnant or success rates with unexplain infertility do we know?

Hi hun - I think it ranges between 2% (for me) and 20% - the higher if you have good sperm and do superovulation (i.e. more than 1 egg).

Thats what I have read... worth a shot for u hun definitely! Good luck

is it on the top of a normal success rate ? i mean you know how a woman supposely have 20% chance to get pregnant each month ? assuming good timing etc...

2% to 20% doesn't sound to much chance to me:(

That is what I was told too. 20%. It just ups your chances to what a "fertile" couple would have.

Miel, I don't know how committed you are to staying with your doctors, but if you're willing to consider a change, I strongly recommend contacting Stanford. They are AMAZING, and my doctor there, Dr. Baker, is the head of the department and is one of those top-level doctors who speaks at international conferences. They've got cutting-edge technology and are generally ahead of the curve.

Being a teaching hospital, the costs are also less than many other places.

It's a bit of a drive, but the knowledge and just general awesomeness of the staff make it worth it. When I freaked out one day, total panic, rather than getting mad, they held my hand and helped me calm down and weren't judgmental or anything. they're so caring and take all the time you need when you have questions. Of the places I've been for this, none have beat Stanford.

thank you Aria...so far i am being very very lucky to have a amazing OBGYN fowlling me she refer me today to the specialist and i got my rendez vous for next week already :)April 8th...My Obgyn is on the 5th floor of the hospital and the infertility specialist is on the 7 th floor ...the person i talked too was already very adorable and knowledgeable as well over the phone so i do hope i will be in good hands here in San Francisco but good to know about Standford :)

They say its 20% for regular sex, each month so not sure why IUI is only the same odds.

My FS told me there is no real increase in chances of success with IUI - perhaps an extra 2-3% ... I was advised, by more than one consultant, to forget about IUI as it wouldn't be worth the cost and stress when it doesn't work...

my friend has been doing iui naturally and was told it was 5-10% chance? makes me wonder if its worth all the heartache

A doctor suggested IUI to us, but the fertility doctor said we should go straight for IVF especially as the cost of IUI was going to be the same as IVF when egg sharing and IVF is double the success rate.

Hi

At my hospital the nurse forms the IUI and there success rate is 1 in 10 so not great odds. Although it is free on the NHS, the :witch: is due on Saturday hoping she stays away and I become one of the lucky 10 but not feeling very optimistic.
