can someone who has gone through this explain it to me. my worry about it is that my DH does shift work 3 days on 3 off and 12hour shifts, my main question would be, when your doing IUI, does your OH have to give a sample the same day you get your IUI??????

Hi

In my experience my hubby went to the ivf clinic at 8am and I went in at 12.30pm to be inseminated. I believe they need about 4 hours to wash the sperm and select the best.

I'm sure the mans semen has to be same day unless it's going to be frozen.

Hi, we are going in tomorrow for our iui, OH is going at 8:15 then i'm booked in for insemination at 9:30 so i think same day, a few hours apart, is pretty normal.

thanks ladies, im stressing because what if hes working and cant get the time off. we are scheduled for IUI, but this is the last month of clomid im taking and if it doesnt work then i think that might be our next step

hey chick, IUI is my next step too, so im just as curious too. Dont no how me and OH will get away with it, as we work at same place too. And both going to hospital once a month is going to be abit suspect

I had my first IUI today. We scheduled a "drop off" (we collected his specimen at home) at 8 am and my IUI was scheduled for 8:40.The clinic I go to like to do the sperm washing and insemination within an hour.

I didn't find it any more painful then a smear and it was over in minutes. The only bit I didn't like was the trigger shot injection I had the day before the procedure. I'm a wuss haha.
