I'm not sure this is what I want but my consultant has booked me in at 39w anyway. I had my DD via ELCS due to breech presentation at 39w too. I can change my mind at any time and if I choose to labour, she won't allow me to for long hours, or for me to be induced. I am more than happy with those decisions if I choose to go for a VBAC. My mind was all over the place after having the C-sec date thrown at me...

So I forgot to ask a bunch of questions and will at my next MW app. but I was wondering if anyone here has had a successful VBAC with a year of C-sec, or if anyone has had a failed VBAC but been awake for their EMCS and just had a spinal/epidural?

i had a emcs for my first i tried vbac for 2nd. i was induced with a gel at 40+2 but baby had fetal distress with contractions so i ended up with another emcs. i had a spinal done for the second and was awake.

I had an emcs with my first and was going to try vbac with my 2nd but unfortunately I ended up having to have another emsc and I was awake for that one too.. they just had to keep me on o2 because i kept loosing my breath .. But everything went fine.... I had a spinal....

both my prev births were emcs, due to fetal distress and failure dilate...the second birth however I was induced at just under 39 weeks due to having GD and an attempt at vbac.

I was awake for both my c-sections.

I am pg again and I have been advised planned c-section so to avoid complications this time as I have a lot of scar tissue, and got a bladder tear because of that.

I have to get tested for GD too, so who knows? Maybe I'd have been having an ELCS either way... I can't wait to ask my MW the questions that I have, I just hope I remember what I want to say... :dohh:

Thanks for the replies! :flow:

write down a list of what you want to ask that way you dont forget

I was induced at 40+1 for preeclampsia. LO started going into severe fetal distress due to insufficient pelvic space and I was rushed off to an EMCS. I was awake as I had already had an epidural placed.

I am hoping for a VBAC for #2 but if they decide it's not safe enough, I will refuse any sort of ELCS until 40+ weeks unless I had to for mine or LO's safety. :flow:

Here they do ELCS's at 39(ish) weeks so there's less chance you'll go into labour.

If I'd have gone into labour with DD, I'd have had an EMCS as she was breech and there was no way they'd let me have a vaginal breech birth for my first, but I didn't want to give birth to a breech baby vaginally either! It was the safest way to deliver her. :flow:
